Hi ,
I'm 40 hours into a 111 hour fast.
I can explain the strange times if anyone is interested.
Questions.
Does anyone else try longer than IF?
Any more tips - finding his one harder than than two
Any apps you would recommend?

The biggest and best tips are to be careful, if you haven't been fasting before!
Walking is very good especially around your normal meal times.
Keep temptation away out of reach.
Only drink water or have ice slivers.
Keep yourself busy, no strenuous exercise! Walking is very good.
If you get any symptoms of not feeling good then stop, with small bites of easily digestible foods.
Take it easy on yourself and enjoy the sensation of starvation fat burning mode, and hopefully the clarity of brain function that I did after three days of fasting! Are your energy levels increasing?

I've done this before and the last time I hadn't planned it very well.... TBH , i didn't this time. :) .... I just thought I've got a window here to get this dome without too many pressures of meeting people , birthdays etc.
I'm two days in and it's been harder than before. I am drinking water and I can feel the ketosis, just waiting for the clarity once all the S**t has cleared from my system. Its a family house so fridge is full. I am keeping myself locked away and working most of the the time.
This time I seem to have a reoccurring head ache but I think I'm tired.
Thanks for advice.

Hi I admire anyone who has a goal and implements it and an even bigger well done living with the family around you eating ‘normal’ food. I listen to Dr Jason Fung on fasting, he gave a great insight for me when I did a modest 48 hour fast. He said when you feel hungry the feeling doesn’t get worse, it stays the same so don’t be worried. Also the headache will go it’s just your body getting rid of the toxins. Make sure you still have electrolytes, either do it yourself with salt and cream of tartar in water or buy a tub of electrolytes which usually includes magnesium. Good luck

Hi @Dicky300. I have personally experimented extensively with fasting of many lengths and kinds over the years, as a person with type two, but I hesitated to join in, as I am definitely not a "enjoy the sensation of..." kind of type 2 experimenting-with-fasting gal.

Most importantly, I believe folks experience hunger quite differently - and no food water only fasts will definitely pin point what kind of person you are in terms of dealing with no food. There's no way I can work or socialise or do anything past Day 2. I have tried! But it is not possible. I definitely prefer fasts with cream in coffee, and bone broth, but that means no autophagy - which is a great effect of no food water only fasts.

Watching docos about food and fasting, and type two - that is something I have done whilst fasting, that works well for me. And def watching and reading Dr Jason Fung, who is a master in this field. But - do be aware a lot of this lit and docos are not dealing with those with bunged up blood glucose regulation systems, ie type two! I would say - keep this in mind.

And really paying attention to how not having food informs one on the role of food in ones life. My first fast, which was a three to four day water only no food fast, did that for sure. And I kept (and still do, although it's way pared down now in terms of the info I document) - a food/drink/exercise/feelings/meds-if applicable, in context of T2D - journal. But this depends on what floats your boat? For you it is digital? There must be some great forums and so on out there for fasters by now? Sorry I don't know about them.

I also do great work on my LCHF recipe books whilst fasting! And my computer file of same. Hungry folks often dream about food, whilst awake as well as in sleep :) .

Yes the magnesium I was taking with food.
I think part of the problem is working on pc and tired eyes.. Thanks for support.

Body fasting is a coach app. Not expensive but I want to get free trial week when I have stopped, no good for more than 2 days individual fast.

Thanks so much for sharing.
And I agree it's hard to think about socialising and going out after day one!

Reading, watching videos helps.
This has been tougher than other two I did. But I genuinely believe in the cell regeneration and unwrapping growth DNA. And clearing out of dead cells.
I imagine it's like one of those reality survivor shows in there...

Also I have to try it as normal life just doesn't seem to work anymore. So it's easy for me in that respect.

Out of interest why 111 hours? Cheers.
Great question.
3 is my lucky number.
But also... You can start Monday night. Finish Saturday morning. Only eating into the morning of my day off.... I like the overlap and Monday is my big work day,
I try and hit it hard.
I don't want the big build up for Monday as the start of the fast, or it justing fasting during week or weekend only.

This way out blends across all types of days.

You could alter it to individual time frames... I find breakfast easy to miss.. So then the hard bit is 3pm to 7pm.
Once passed dinner, it's only a few hours until bed... Easy to distract with telly. Xbox. Book. Gardening.

I've been doing 18 / 6 IF for the last 12 months. Basically I don't eat breakfast which I don't miss and have lost 14kgs in that period. Not sure I could and would want to do 111 hours! Good luck to you tho!!

Thanks. I think of IF a just what we should all be doing.. Kellogs brought sweets in the morning to our shores... We don't need it. Well done with weight loss. Are you down to your ideal weight now.?

Yep. Crazy for anyone let alone people with diabetes to start the day with a massive refined carb load. Another 3 kgs to lose but I've started resistance training so I'm laying on a bit of muscle instead.

3kg doesn't sound like a problem, as in its an ideal target. The average is made of highs and lows, no one actually sits on that number. But it give you something to work for and resistance is the way. Build muscle, shape and confidence. Of you hit the weight all the better.

I'm older and resistance training is the way forward. Three sets of reps. Third to burn. Find a level to maintain health.
