O no you never said to eat only once- it's what I want to do.
In 24 hours I'd like to eat twice .
With 12 hours between each meal.
So fasting for 12 hours in a 24 hour day.
I suppose you could do that by eating at midnight and at noon, or very similar times. I don't think the conditions you're setting are compatible with normal meal times.O no you never said to eat only once- it's what I want to do.

Sorry this is hard for me to explain. So I would be fasting during the day .
I can't see a way around that .
As well as during the night.
That's the beauty of the 12 hour, 2-meals-a-day fast — it works regardless if you work a dayshift or night shift. So I would be fasting during the day .

I'm usually not able to eat the normal meal times for many reasons so I just do my best.I suppose you could do that by eating at midnight and at noon, or very similar times. I don't think the conditions you're setting are compatible with normal meal times.
Not sure I understand what u mean. That's the beauty of the 12 hour, 2-meals-a-day fast — it works regardless if you work a dayshift or night shift.
Seriously as you noted such a fast is not practical because you're basically fasting twice a day. Change your meals so breakfast is a bit later and dinner is a bit sooner and that will make your fast a bit longer, with most of it being while you are sleeping.
But if I'm not eating for the 12 hours between 7am and 7pm or whenever-- aren't I fasting during the day?12 hour fast with only two meals, so you fast while sleeping:
7am - breakfast
7pm - dinner
Use whatever time you want, but make the time the same for a.m. and p.m.
Yes I think I was just explaining it wrong. You can pick whatever interval or fasting period you want. The point is to have a (substantial) period when you don't eat, which could be (eg) a 16 hour fast from 7pm to 11am. You'd then eat as you wished from 11am until 7pm, when you'd fast until the following 11 am, and repeat. If you wanted a 12 hour fast, 8pm to 8 am would work. Intermittent fasting is not about spacing all your meals 12 hours apart.
Not sure I understand what u mean.
Yes I could do a longer fast.If you only want to eat once a day then unless you sleep 18 hours or more then you are going to have long period of fasting whilst your awake.
Does it have to be 12 hours in between? If you do an 18 hr fast you could eat at say 9pm so you’re not hungry when you go to bed then eat at 1pm to break your fast so you are eating at 1pm and 9pm every day - so you eat twice in the day but have a longer fast. (18 hours)
Not really. I just wanted to get used to 12 hour fasting first then eventually work up to omad again.Unless you sleep all day and night it’s not possible to have two 12 hour fasts while you are asleep. One period will be at night the other in the day, or if you had your meals say at midnight and midday each fast would be half day and half night.
is there a reason you want to eat exactly 12 hours apart?
I'm a bit puzzled as well. Not really. I just wanted to get used to 12 hour fasting first then eventually work up to omad again.
OI'm a bit puzzled as well.
You said you usually eat at noon and again around 7PM.
This means you already do a 17 hour fast every day.
No need to be embarrassed. We are all here to help.O
I'm extremely embarrassed.
My math is very bad.
So in reality I have to add hours of fasting.
Whew there's less to work on now.
Don’t be embarrassed- we got you there in the end - all sorted nowO
