2014/15 Football Season

Well done City for coming back to share the points despite being a man down and falling behind to a goal scored from a position with a hint of offside about it.

Given the wonderful talent at Chelsea's disposal, it was disappointing to see them demonstrate such little ambition.

They came there to get a draw and succeeded.

I must admit they did defend very well though particularly in dead ball situations.

We live to fight another day.

Pavlos

PS Don't you just love United; spent over two hundred million and conceded 5 against the mighty Leicester City (no disrespect intended), that's 40 million per goal. Even Moyes did not concede more than four goals in a game as a United manager.

Hmmm. I didn't enjoy our visit with Arsenal to Leicester at all Pavlos. !

However. all ManU fans look away now,

What do Man Utd and Richard the third have in common? They were both buried in Leicester.:)

(I did tell you to look away Noblehead);)

Capitol cup round 3 tomorrow night.
Arsenal v Southampton should be a good one.I reckon that may go to penalties.
Liverpool should dispose of Middlesbrough
MK Dons and Bradford should be a good one come on Bantams you can do it

I've just been reading the local newspaper report about Blackpool's less than ideal preparations for the Saturday match away at Brighton (a very long way from Blackpool). The entire team and entourage had to catch a train, then the metro across London, then another train, then a coach, thus arriving very late on the Friday evening. This sounds horrendous to me, and so typical of the shambles at the club. I bet Oyston went down in a roller, if he bothered to turn up at all.

It's no secret that I do not like Manchester United, for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that I am a City fan.

They have spent big this summer, they have had too being in a position of weakness after not being able to offer Champions league football. In Di Maria and Falcao they have bought well, too players that I consider world class and that I would have loved to have seen end up at City, a possibility at some point but alas financial fair play("FFP") saw to that. In fact, I can not think of a better example of how the FFP rules are there to protect the established big teams ( and I do include City in these) against any upstarts. If it was not for FFP these two players would either not been in the market at all or would have ended up in a team in the Champions league.

As seen yesterday, at this point United is an unbalanced team with its defense not being on a par with its formidable attack.

Given the players at their disposal, I am not sure what can change before next January's window and the top players are not usually available in January. But money talks and United have plenty of that and they can not afford to risk missing out on the Champions League. So I expect defensive reinforcements to arrive then.

But, particularly in defense, it takes time for players to learn each other's game and play as a cohesive unit.

So I fully expect United to have turned the corner in the New Year. The question is how far behind the rest will they be by then.

Blooming heck why couldnt he get them a coach its a wonder they werent knackered by the time they got down there. If thats gunna be the case each time they play away well they wont hack that for too bliddy long and i think they will look for another team to play for.

The money is there. There are airports at both Blackpool and Brighton, how much would it have cost to hire a small plane? If that is unreasonable, then a coach at least.

Yeah thats right Blackpool have an airport so do Brighton.I agree with you he could have at least put a coach on for em.

Rovers have started to use the train more. It works out cheaper!
However, don't think it would be that kerfuffle! Train then coach to hotel!
Morecambe players last month arrived in taxis as the majority of their players live in scouse land.

Train is fine, but train/tube/train/coach is a bit OTT.
It's chuffing stupid is what it is!

When a club is looking to cut spending it sends the wrong message to fans and more importantly the players. I know we have not had a budget increase under our last owner for nearly ten years. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel but it is so far away!

We think Oyston did it on purpose to annoy Riga as it is clear he is trying to force him to quit. He wouldn't sack him, it would cost him too much money :)

Well i suppose thats one way to get shut of someone you dont like but its not good for team morale or indeed the supporters. Its crazy cos most managers would have sacked Riga by now cos of the **** performance of the team. The team have no hope of winning as things stand as they lack the morale to win.For a team to do well they need a good manager etc and to be settled at the club.A happy team is one thats gunna go out there and give it their all.So thats Blackpools excuse its not the excuse for our dismal performance as we have a good owner and yet to be proved if the manager is any good or not.
