2014/15 Football Season

It's amazing reading the enthusiastic response to your the thread semiphonic.

I've never been one-over by football. The last match I watched was in
Oxford in 1966. The fans were naturally excited and voicing their opinions,
and there was me standing there wondering how the heck the fans of both
teams were able to get so involved.

LOL, I guess I must be weird.

Anyway folks, best wishes to all of you and continue enjoying your, well....enjoyment.

Thanks Willie, we had a World Cup thread going over the summer which was equally enjoyable. I understand that not everyone likes football, it doesn't mean you're weird! All opinions are, as always, welcomed :)

This weeks £2 acca -
Wins for Arsenal, Chelsea, Southampton, Derby, Watford, Bristol City, Notts County, Peterborough, Luton & Wycombe.

Looks like a banker, another step closer to my boat maybe?

I visited twice in the league cup. I think that was when Oysten was in jail ??
The ground before the rebuild when we were put in the open end and the concrete on the terracing weasel ripped up and fenced off! Toilet was a brick wall! The refreshment bar had 1 server cos it was that small. I believed that them days had gone! How sad to see them struggling! We always enjoyed a press match drink in the Bridge pub ??
I empathise as rovers had been going the same way for years. We have new owners and things are at last looking up. Hope the tangerines can get out of this mess!

Oyston senior is the one that was in jail. His wife took over, and then his son, but Oyston senior is the one that holds the purse strings. The ground has been rebuilt in recent years and is now splendid for a Championship side (except it isn't finished!), but the training ground is worse than our local Sunday league pitches and that is no exaggeration. There aren't even any proper showers. A new training ground has been promised for a decade or more, but nothing has materialised..

Glad you called us the Tangerines. Our new manager called the seating at the ground orange in his first interview. That did not go down too well!!

Newcastle seem to be on a roll, see they beat Liverpool 1 - 0 today :)

Finshed 3-0 to us and poor old Clarky's Blackpool lost 0-2 and Leeds lost 3-1 Im happy with our performance i really didnt think wed beat Forest though.Still that makes 7 unbeaten and hopefully make it 8 on Tuesday.;):)

Newcastle fan here although I don't get to the games.
Looked promising in first game of season against Man City then it all went wrong!
Still, a good last few weeks so lets hope they can keep it up - No doubt they will self destruct as usual though!

It makes for an interesting debate between me and my father who is a mackem!

Not going well for Man U in the derby, 1 -0 down with 10 men :(

I was relatively happy with a point against Stoke, I would certainly have taken that before the game, by all accounts both sides had chances to win it after it went to 2-2. These were the games we lost last season, this fixture was 3-1 Stoke (last season), a difficult place for any team to go to and get points. Villa next week should prove to be a good game and hopefully another 3 points.
