2015/16 Football Season

Nice win for Hull last night they cruised through to 4th round. As did Villa,Stoke,Leicester,Middlesbrough,Man City and Everton. Bournemouth snatched a 3-2 win on penalties against Preston. Good performance for PNE.

Tonight is the turn for our other Yorkshire side Sheffield Wednesday they take on the not so mighty Newcastle. Come on Owls do us proud :) :D

We go to Anfield as the only L2 side left 6-0 Liverpool

Win for the superwhites last night, awful first half but clawed it back and then went on to win it.
Hoping for our unbeaten run to continue this week at Cheltenham.

Conversation at hay-char Towers this evening:

Mrs h-c: "Saints have beaten MK Dons six-nil"!
Me: "So they bloody well should have"!
Mrs h-c: "Yes; I suppose you're right".

Unfortunately there were no witnesses to this historic admission that I might be right about something. :D :D

Good result for the Saints 6-0 what a drubbing that was were the MK Dons there :D:D
Carlisle did very well and were very unlucky not to have caused an upset. Sadly there had to be a winner.Im sure though all in Cumbria were really proud of the valiant efforts. :)

Meanwhile Sheff Weds caused an upset and beat Newcastle wow that was some going. A headline this morning states that Newcastle are close to crisis says boss Maclaren. I bet hes fearing for his job :D

Elsewhere Man united won no surprise there. As did Chelsea,Arsenal,Palace, and Norwich.

Its our turn tonight we go in to battle with Notts Forest Thats gunna be a toughie but we thought that about the Charlton game and never expected to win that one so you never know. Hopefully we are on a roll. Come lads lets keep it together 1 point would be good, all 3 would be brilliant. UTT :):):D

PS Good luck against Forest.

Our son is now ensconced at Uni in Sheffield but as far as I know, he hasn't yet decided whether to support United or Wednesday. P'raps last night will help him decide :)

Thankyou much appreciated :)

Hope he finally decides which one to support. I think Wednesday seem the best United keep bottling the play offs :D:D

Well done Carlisle brilliant effort, penalties it could have gone either way

Best we could do was a draw. We set off like a race horse in the first 15 mins we had quite a few shots but sadly they were off target and Notts forest just seemed to come from nowhere and fired their first shot wide of our goalie and in to the net. That was bloody infuriating as well as frustrating. We kept battling and in the 2nd half had loads more shots but just couldnt make anything of them. I suppose a point is better than nothing. thats us done till next Saturday 3rd October when we take on the mighty Wolves. UTT

Saints are three-nil up against Swansea with about 10 minutes to go. Hopefully that's a result but years of following them have taught me that their capacity for chucking away wins at the last minute means that you should wait until the Fat Lady launches into her final aria ... :)

Well there we go another Saturday football over and Man City got walloped 4-1 by Spurs what a shock.
Meanwhile Man Utd beat Sunderland 3-0
Arsenal thumped Leicester 2-5
In our division well Rotherham won again and climbed out of the doldrums
Sheff Weds scrambled a late win.
Looking at the table now our game next Saturday with Wolves will be a 6 pointer as they are just 1 point underneath us.
Leeds play Middlesboro tomorrow and hopefully Boro will win.

Elsewhere Blackpool lost again
Tranmere a nice little win for you Nosher Looking good now mate keep it going :)

I gave the match a miss today, not feeling a 100% so listened to a bit on Radio Cumbria

We gave Newport their first L2 win, cant grumble as it is all about scoring which we failed to do

Ibhere is out injured (hamstring) lets see what the rest of them are made of
