2017/2018 Football Season

[Grits teeth] Yes; I suppose so [/Grits teeth] :)

Charlie Austin ought to have had at least a yellow card for what he did to our goalie. Our goalie had the ball yet Charlie tried to boot it and in doing so booted Lossl in the face. Poor lad had a bleeding nose for ages. He carried on after a brief pause. Austin got away with it ref ought to go to specsavers lol.

A nice 2 day break for the lads now. Next stop for us is home tie with Stoke on Tuesday afternoon. Then comes another home tie with the Clarets (Burnley) and the first game of 2018 sees us down at Leicester. Then its off to the Reebok for an interesting cup tie with Bolton. Would rather lose that and concentrate all our efforts on staying in the Prem. UTT :)

Charlie Austin has been charged with violent conduct after kicking Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Jonas Lossl in the face.

The Southampton striker provoked anger among Town supporters who shared footage of the incident on social media.

Danish international Lossl came sliding in and gathered the ball comfortably but Austin continued with his challenge and followed through with his boot.

A statement from the FA said: “Southampton’s Charlie Austin has been charged with violent conduct.

Justice has been done. Nuff said.

I take no pleasure in saying it, but I agree. Serves him right.

Not the kind of behaviour we expect from our players :(

Another three points for the superwhites, still in ninth place but only eight points off top spot. We beat Sutton, who are also vying for promotion. Top eight never won, gonna be interesting after all the games at chrimbo.
Boxing day...........Fylde.......home.
Saturday..............Guisley....home.
New Year's day...Fylde........away.
Saturday.............Barrow.....away.

I'd be happy with.not getting beat, but twelve points would be incredibly helpful. Second thoughts, eight points would put us in with a great shout for the rest of the season.
Not gonna be greedy!

Best wishes to all that contribute to our thread.
Hopefully a really good amount of points all round.

Woo hoo a festive treat of footie, just what Santa asked for!

Home v Accystan Boxing Day but I’m working so will miss it

Whoa!

Working on another footie day!

Scandalous!

Some job that!

So am I, but I will still watch our game!

In footie, I'm lucky to get even Christmas day off! (Not this year!)

But won't get a day off except Sunday's till mid January when I will have a second Christmas day!

:)So not a lot of footie news from me really. I didn't go to Southampton with my hubby and son as we had heavy snow here. When I saw the result I was glad about that. Hubby stayed at son's house for a couple of nights as the hill up here was pretty impassable. I slipped on the ice and broke my wrist a couple of days later, so the Christmas dinner is going to be a challenge this year.

I did manage to go to West Ham the day after my fall. Wearing a sling is a good way to get a seat on the tube;). The football was dreadful, but the evening and meal with my 2 sons was perfect. Younger son has been going to FGR a lot recently...silly boy lol.

And that's it, now you're up to date with my footie news. It's been good reading this thread and catching up with what I missed. :)
