2017/2018 Football Season

0-0 we were very lucky that the ref didn't award Burnley a penalty. It was a huge let off indeed. That's 1 valuable point. :) :singing: Trip to Leicester on Monday. Might well be another surprise I hope so. UTT :D
Saints have a chance to move to within 2 points of us assuming they beat Man Utd which cant be ruled out. :D

Well done Tranmere convincing 4-0 win :)
Bad luck Carlisle :(

Man Ure. at 5.30 pm. I can hardly bear to follow the progress of the match. Swansea and Bournemouth both won today and we are now 1 point above the drop zone.

Sometimes I hate football..... :(

Not a bad set of results for the regulars except moi

Could have been worse as they hit the bar and had a penalty saved

Listened to it on the radio when got home from work so that’s the double over us for them - no complaints

Well, I can hardly believe I am saying this, but we held them to a draw

I wonder whose fault it will have been today, according to José? :D
Brilliant "excuse" from Jose, who claimed that there should have been a penalty because of a Saints handball in the penalty area. He looked even more grumpy when he was told the ball had hit the player's arm - which he already knew perfectly well. What an ungracious little faecal mass he is .

Yes you did very well indeed. They seem to have fallen off a bit and allowed Chelsea to nip in to 2nd place. Even Klopp's mob are snapping at Utd's heels. :) Wonder if City will win again today and notch up 21 unbeaten.

He doesn't like to lose. A bit like Ferguson he hated to lose. :D

Yes, but he was a bit like Cumberland with his magic Yorkshire Puddings - except in his case it was magic extra stoppage times, that appeared from nowhere, instead :D

I guess there's quite a lot at stake for Mourinho - he's now on his second less than stellar performance, managing a Major Premiership team, and he may have to look elsewhere for employment if he can't turn this round......

Well, another three points and closing in on the top teams.
Another four goals!
Couldn't break them down first half, but floodgates opened once the first went in.
Woo hoo!

Off to AFC Fylde tomorrow, and hopefully a really good New Year for the superwhites!
New ground for me and we've sold our allotment of tickets for the game, over 1500 travelling SWA for the game.
We also had the biggest National division attendance on Boxing day for this season, over 6000!
Also best wishes to all our regulars on the thread!

Hope everyone has a nice new years eve tonight and if you are going partying then please have fun and take good care. Almost the end of another year and lets hope 2018 brings good luck and fortune to us all and to all our teams. :singing::singing::)

Happy New year everyone. Hope you all had a nice new years eve.
Off we go with more footy. We take on Leicester away. Be a tough one. A point would be a good earner. I saw our match on MOTD2 last night, that was definitely a penalty but fortunately for us the ref didn't give it.
Good luck to all those who are playing today. Hope you all get a win :)

Oh dear we lost 3-0 :( Not a good start to the new year eh.
Bad day for Carlisle and Tranmere also lost :(
Oh well that's it for the league for us till 1 week on Saturday. Next stop is Bolton in the cup this coming Saturday. Think we could do with losing that one and concentrate our efforts on the league.

I'm stunned!
Not a good start to the year!
We made more mistakes in one game than we have had for about three months.
Well done Fylde, you did what you wanted to do!

Barrow away Saturday.

Hate this division!

Next stop for us league wise is Wet Spam at home a week on Saturday. We got plenty time to think of that game and we will need to win it cos things are getting close now points wise. Wet Spam play West Brom tonight. A draw would be good.
We need the Saints v Palace game tonight to be a draw otherwise Saints would go 1 point behind us and that's a little bit too close. Sorry @jay hay-char :D:D

Well, we did better than that :(

I can't believe we lost to Palace - I know they've seen an improvement in form recently but we're going to have to turn this round very quickly, now, if we're going to avoid the drop. A couple of months back, I said that I had an uneasy feeling about this season and my feeling status has now been upgraded from "Uneasy" to "Impending Doom"

Yeah it was a shocker was that. When it went to 1-1 I thought that's a good result but alas it now means Palace are 2 points behind us and seeing as Wet Spam also won. It means we gotta beat Wet Spam a week on Saturday cos there are now 5 teams that could knock us down a few places if we lose and they all win theirs. On a happier note we have signed a new player from abroad on loan till end of season and he's supposed to be red hot. Here's hoping he proves his worth and helps us to survival.

Huddersfield Town have signed AS Monaco defender Terence Kongolo on loan until the end of the 2017/18 season.

The 23-year-old Netherlands international has signed for the Terriers until June and will wear number five during his time at the John Smith's Stadium.

Kongolo joined the French champions from Feyenoord in the summer, having won the Eredivisie with the Rotterdam side the previous season.

The centre back - who can also play on the left side of defence - also represented his nation at the World Cup finals in Brazil in 2014, with the Netherlands claiming a 2-0 victory over Chile.

On his newest signing, Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner said: “Terence is a top player who we’ve followed from his time at Feyenoord. His big summer move to Monaco put him out of our reach at the time, but we’re delighted we can bring him in on loan now.

“He is a high-quality young centre back and will provide us with a great option for the rest of the Premier League season. With Michael Hefele and Jon Gorenc Stanković returning from long-term injuries, it was important to have this.

“Terence has qualities that will really suit our style of play. He’s athletic and mobile and he plays on the front foot in the way he defends and uses the ball. I’m excited to work with him during the course of the season.”

Lets hope he proves his worth and at least helps us to stay in the Prem.
