So I've now been taking Metformin once a day for two weeks, just realised today I should have increased to two tablets daily as of last Friday. Oops! So reading the initial info I was given I can see that after a further two weeks I then increase to 3 tablets and then to four daily. At the moment my blood glucose levels are good, ranging anywhere between 4.1 and 8 depending on before or after meals. So my question is, what benefits will increasing my tablets give me?
Also, I've adopted the LCHF diet and so far my weight has been creeping up! Not what I was expecting as I need to lose three stone! I've started exercising on a treadmill daily which I'm hoping will help. Did anyone else find their weight increased initially? I'm worried I'm eating the wrong things?
Typical day would consist of no breakfast as I can't stomach it first thing, then lunch of homemade butternut squash and red pepper soup with half a high protein roll from Lidls. Evening meal either fish or chicken, roasted butternut, salad, mayonnaise, then sugar free jelly with double cream. Is there anything here that's not good I'm not aware of?
Any help gratefully received, thank you.
