Ive done pretty much the same thing since day 1.Congrats. Was it a tough slog for you?
Thanks for the honest response.Ive done pretty much the same thing since day 1.
For a couple of weeks I tracked everything and I certainly was and and pretty sure I still am fairly close to keto most days. I find it very demoralising to log every morsel of food so I don’t! I have a varied hungry family to feed (carboholic vegetarian husband & 3 teenage boys) so that’s a step further than I can deal with without becoming depressed and obsessive about food. I just know what to eat and what not to. It’s got easier over the year since diagnosis.
Most of the time I’m fine, occasionally I get bored and frustrated I have to cook from scratch a lot, usually the answer is some new or forgotten recipes - lots of fabulous food is safe. I hate being in the kitchen because of the whole family situation but I actually find my meals the easiest and quickest by and large. I have the odd treat but even that is pretty tame.
I get frustrated periodically that others can eat more “normally” than me and get better scores faster, hey it sucks but it is what it is. I’m stubborn and a year down the line think I can do this forever, just so long as wine isn’t banned! I find fasting hard due to dawn phenomenon and family life but usually get at least 12 hrs in quite often more. This is my target in the coming year. Being busy helps and I often have too much time on my hands due to lack of work.
