"A new you in 42"

Lots of hills in Edinburgh! That will be a great workout - window shopping and exercise all in a beautiful city!

Pity I have to be in a conference for 3 days though lol. Edinburgh is one of my favourite places

Oh well done Jamrox. Last time I danced at a party was 4 years ago. It took me about 3 months before I could stand and walk a few steps after.

5k run yesterday (wears an annoyingly smug expression on face)
Smug only because even though I still had to walk some of the worst hill sections I didn't feel completely knackered at the end - only moderately knackered!
Well done (said with envy through gritted teeth)!

Phew Catching up...... started riding my bike home and to work (14 miles each way and hillllllly ouch) driving up reigate hill seems a lot flatter but hey ho, i only nearly fell off twice last night and once this morning so getting better with the pedals I've also nearly mastered the timing the traffic lights so i can keep my feet locked into pedals, only one near fatality doing this so far, my legs are gone but it must be doing me good right?.... right? we have been going out every night geocaching as my 11 yr old LOVES it hehe, i do too luckily but even if i didn't id have to go anyway, england playing football wasn't good enough reason not to go lol (thank you sky+), so a busy weekend finding treasure and on the mountain bike, which is cool as my butt needs a rest from the road bike, the mountain bike seat feels like sitting on fluffy pillows after the spike they call a seat on the road bike, I've pretty much stopped running can't find the motivation but once the legs get used to the bike ill pick it back up, anyway well done everyone your doing great!

Welcome back Andy12345,
You have been missed.
Just stop showing the rest of us up as slouches will you!
I am trying to get as much mileage as I can from my impairments and hospital and stuff, but YOU, do 14 miles each way to work and back then out for more punishment for fun in the evenings!!! All after having been to hospital earlier in the week.

And I had you down as a slacker!
Pipp

just lucky enough to be able to do it is all, its all relative, I'm very impressed with everyones efforts

.....Shortly before we all started the 'New You in 42' our local bike hire shop closed down...just as I'd plucked up courage to hire one as my son had just bought a bike, needed someone to go with, wouldn't fancy it on my own....its very flat round here so would be ideal exercise....

...doh! so its back to the walking, 40 minutes yesterday and already done 30 today but will be doing some more later as the weather is good here, about time, its great walking along the seafront stretches for miles here not that I've covered that many but more enjoyable if you have good scenery, and rowers, kitesurfers, etc to watch, ..

You re doing great too.

Just done a gorgeous 95 minutes walk in the woods in the Ayrshire sunshine with my neighbour.

Sounds more bucolic than my humping two dozen bags of soil and garden waste into the car and hoiking them out again at the tip! That's worth 15 minutes, back to the Step and Talking Heads shortly (about to throw it down outside).

Steps and Talking Heads? Now there's a weird combo. Do you do the Tragedy dance?

15 Mins on exercise bike, random knee stepping and I've just spent an hour painting the bathroom wall which is hard work when you're so short that it's all above head height!

Two walks today. The first was 35 minutes to the pharmacy and back this morning to collect the medicines they didn't have in stock when I dropped my prescription off on Thursday followed by a 60 minutes walk this afternoon after I'd returned from a vinyl buying expedition to a record fair in Southampton. I now have lots of new music to listen to.

We are all so virtuous lol
Steps and taking heads...strange combo.
Would they be step heads
..

Is that another word for Dad dancing?

(If I was going to exercise to one of my daughter's old CDs it would be more likely to be All Saints not Steps LOL!)

Don't be put off cycling Pollylocks. Find yourself a cheap secondhand bike, or go to freecycle or somewhere. I cannot ride a bike any more, and miss the freedom it gave. You won't regret trying it, even if you don't like it, but probably have regrets if you don't try it.

Confession.
I am not very virtuous today. Struggled to get out of bed 10.30am. Back to bed with severe headache at 12.45pm. Just emerged with slightly less painful head, but not up to much. Does finger exercise typing on keyboard count? No, thought not. I will try to get my 30 minutes by strolling round the garden. Probably have to break it up into 10 x 3 minute chunks though.
