Heating on, tumble dryer whirring away, beef casserole in the slow cooker to warm us up! - wellies and raincoats on (son even has scarf & gloves!) - off to see the olympic torch pass our town - Do you think I need to take a flask of something hot?

It's pouring with rain here - very dreich Scottish weather.

Good luck seeing the torch. The flame came through here in a van in a convoy at 50 mph and down the road to a private party from which the locals were excluded. It was a very poor show :(

Ahh the peoples games

Peeing down here again... Always seems to screw the weekend up as well. I had real plans for the garden this year but the rain has mostly scuppered them so far.

My nephew down in Lincolnshire just had a tornado rip through his back garden, taking the fence and squishing his son's trampoline. This weather is just totally off the wall.

Didie,

Wow! Whereabouts in Lincolnshire was that?
It has been grotty around here (Coningsby, Lincs) most of the day but we have seen no wind or storms locally.
Hope he gets it sorted out okay.
Regards
Angie

This is about the tornado. Dave is my nephew.

Thanks Didie,
Some 'lovely' Summer weather there!!
Quite frightening.

Down here on the South Coast we had rain but not buckets of it so was able to get out to go down to the cafe for my morning coffee. Found a stag beetle lying on the path which I've not seen for many years. I think it must have escaped from my neighbours "wildlife garden" Put it back in a pile of rotting wood in said garden so I hope he wasn't trying to escape. It has been raining most of the evening and very windy but then as soon as my roses come out the wind blows and batters the life out of them. I'm hoping that all the bad weather now means it's going to be hot in August when I go to Cropredy in Oxfordshire for a weekend of sitting in a field listening to music and chilling.

40 DEGREES here in Italy and been like this now for over two weeks...Always in the mid high 30s looked at long term weather and its going to drop :( to high 20s to low 30s

The down side is that I was invited to a fruit market and the size of the Water Melons and the fruit with all their colours was amazing I could have eaten the lot... I LOVE WATER MELONS!!!

Dirty days hath September
April June and November
From January up to May
The rain it raineth every day
All the rest have thirty-one
Without a blessed gleam of sun
And if any of them had two-and-thirty
They'd be just as wet and twice as dirty too.
