Accu-check mobile

I just checked in case my batteries had come via a courier or different postal service, but no. Here's an email I got when I last ordered pump supplies:

"Dear XXX

Thank you for your order – delivery has been requested for tomorrow for you.

The batteries will arrive separately via Royal Mail and should reach you by the end of this week.

Kind regards

XXX"

So definitely Royal Mail :)

I have been looking into buying one of these as an alternative to the glucomen lx plus but not sure how reliable it is.
Could anyone share their views of it?

Cheers
I got one free from Accu-check and didn't like it. I was previously using the Glucomen LX Plus also.

It's fairly heavy and large, that was my biggest grievance. In terms of functionality, it's alright. The finger pricker isn't so good but the cartridge and measuring facility is pretty cool.

The cartridges aren't much more expensive than the Glucomen LX sensor test strips, so you shouldn't have any difficulty getting these on your prescription. Ultimately it's up to the discretion of your Dr.

You may manage to get a free meter like I did, I actually clicked on some daft advertisement - but for the life of me I cannot remember what site...

I have an accu chek mobile which I use when out and like others have said find that although it is bigger than other meters its convenient having meter/strip/lancer all in one. I actually picked up a spare one yesterday including 50 test cartridge from accu chek stall at an event :) Although I do really like the mobile I am looking at smaller meters and have ordered a contour next usb and also yesterday picked up a agamatrix wavesense jazz wireless which is tiny and looking forward to trying out. If anyone else got one interested to know what you think of it.

I don't get through many batteries in my mobile. Gets used everyday and think have changed batteries twice in about a year. My understanding is they can't send batteries through post anymore but if you contact accu chek they will send you a voucher instead.
Recently had two Duracell AAA batteries sent through the post no problem. All I have to do is log on and they put them straight out.

I love my wavesense jazz wireless. Been using it since early February.

Thank you everyone. It's just been delivered and I do prefer the easier process but the levels between this and my glucomen lx are a little different. 7.8 on lx and 8.7 on accu.

Guess I'll carry both around for a while and see if it gets any better

I have a accu Chek mobile and it is the best meter I've ever had, no hassle with it and convenient to use, and for someone who never tested very much it has helped me a lot to get back into the habit!
