Advice needed on disappearing backside(seriously!)

Since diagnosis of type 2 three months ago, I have lost about a stone on LCHF and I am very pleased about this apart from the fact that I'm losing weight from all the wrong places. In particular, my rear seems to be disappearing to the point where sitting on a hard chair feels uncomfortable and my thighs are very bony. I'm a bit bothered about the lack of muscle. Can anyone help with these questions:
1. If I stick at it, will the weight eventually come off my middle where I most want to lose it?
2. Is the loss of hip and thigh muscle due to the LCHF diet or the diabetes?
3. How can I build up my leg muscles - I find it hard to exercise due to m.e. and joint pain so I need something efficient.
Thanks guys

I have lost 4 stones and am now at target. I empathise with your boney bottom! I notice it more in the bath, and it can hurt!! However, my weight has come off just about everywhere. I know my waist line was decreasing even though it wasn't noticeable initially because I measured it every couple of weeks. Are you doing this? You may have a surprise.

Sorry I can't help with the exercise/muscle building bit.

Regarding point number 2, are you eating enough protein ie 0.8-1.2 grams /Kg of body weight.?

Hopefully you are losing fat, not muscle.

Ladies with little or no bum (like me)
Keep squeezing the buttock muscles .
Keep them toned up best you can do .
The muscle toned up can help - where the lack of fat
and own buttocks seat padding cant .
Pilates is a good form of gentle exercise for ladies with
little or no bottoms .
We do the squeeze your cheeks and hold for ages to tone
the buttock muscles .
It can encourage more shape and definition to a flattened or
disappearing rear end .

Use a 'cushion to sit on' where/when possible .
This will make any seating much more comfy and bearable .
I do this trick , sofa , car (then can take it into parents or
friends homes or church or buildings reception areas when vist them )
Method in my madness with all of this ;) .

Rub your numb bum often/frequently and massage feeling back into it .
Improve blood flow and circulation also - be/keep as active as you can do .

Wish I could have some of my boobs on my bum o_O
Then I would be better balanced out !

Better off... Do 5 sit ups each morning in bed before getting out of it and tone those stomach muscles.
Lots
Of peoe day they haven't got time to exercise but 5 sit ups whilst waiting for partners to bring a cuppa in bed is easy peasy!!!

I am disabled by damaged spine. Not able to walk far. Following surgery last year I was even more immobile than usual. I was given chair based exercises by physio. They helped prevent muscle wastage. I now exercise in water as often as I am able. Still have plenty of work to do on the belly fat though. The weight always goes from where we think we least need it to.

Lchf should not be a low protein diet.
Eating sufficient protein, and doing moderate exercise during weight loss should prevent/ reduce muscle loss.

But there are a few things to factor in - age being one. We tend to get 'stringier' as we get older, and excess weight may disguise this. I'm sorry @nancyb , I have no idea how old you are, your exercise levels, or your weight loss target.

Several people have posted that their midriff weight is the last to go, when they lose weight...

Our parcel taker in has had ME for 15 years having had it diagnosed at John Radcliffe. She told me to do the bed sit ups as its easier than the floor.. She drops off to sleep actually on the phone in her office at home but can manage 5 of these pre getting up.

In response to the original post, I was informed by a personal trainer that while the fat drops off everywhere when you start to lose weight, especially with a low carb diet, the last place it goes is your middle, unfortunately!

I feel like I'm eating enough protein, but I haven't tried weighing it out. I'll have to put some more thought into it.

Me too - it's all on top!
I think I'll give the buttock squeezing a go as that seems managable

Hello to all, I think I should get the LCHF diet going, as I have plenty to lose on the hips and bum, lots of plenty!
If your middle is the tough bit, then you are most likely an apple shaped person, and this is your tougher part. I am a pear shape, with all my weight on the hips and thighs, but my 'spare tyre' around my belly button area, is also a pest to have.
So bums away, sorry chocs away for the new year and the positive progress we are all to make this year, ttfn Karen

Well, I decided to get the tapemeasure out and measure myself. Remember how the ideal figure was always 36 - 24 - 36? My measurements are 36 - 36 - 36! Clearly something going wrong in the middle!
