Hi all,
I like to see if i could help me out with this question.

  • Newly diagnose as T2 since Jan 2016 & on Metfomin 500mg twice daily
  • On a very reduce card diet about 200 g daily in one meal, then veg & red-meats
  • On HIT exercises 5 time weekly for 1-2 hours
  • Last HaB1c was 8.0 ( och!)
  • I monitor my BG levels 3-4 time daily, fasting; B4 & after meals
  • Current under control at between 6- 9 mmol/L
  • I have recently switch from Mets 500 mg to Diamicron 80mg ( Gliclazide) & founf the effect on my BG much better
  • I have monitored it for week now & have shown positive where it push my BG lower by 1.5 points on average
  • This was done without my GP's approval as i am testing the outcome after reading about both these drugs
  • Diamicron works better to lower my BG after a hard round of exercises where i hit a new low at 5.1
  • Any one tried these both with positive effects?

Hi. I was on Metformin and Gliclazide (aka Diamicron) and the Gliclazide worked a for a while but as I was actually a LADA it stopped working when my beta cells failed. Gliclazide can help if your beta cells are not 100%. BTW 200gm of carbs is a bit on the high side and you might want to reduce it a bit?|
