Advice on Newcastle Diet for smaller women

I'm fine with this most of the time. I've been very hungry 1 night as my Bf took ages cooking. I got into the veg as coz I'm on only 2 shakes a day it gives me more leeway with fats. I've always liked (well since I was about 30) vegetables but have always had them with some sort of fat.

I've had a few headaches, been cold (but I feel the cold anyway if it's less than 23c) and felt a bit dizzy occasionally but other than that, I'm fine

How many carbs are you replacing with fat?
It would appear from some posts on here, by purely anecdotal evidence, if the carbs go down too much, and other food groups replace them, the diet seems to be not as successful.
I certainly had good success with a very low fat calorie controlled diet.

I hope this is legible

There's no hard and fast I guess is the answer. Please note 13/14 were 800 cal food days whereas as mon to thurs incl the 2 shakes a day plus 250g veg

It will be interesting to see the results.
The original newcastle diet was very low fat.

I'm not sure I can cope with having veg without fat. I think I could only cope with raw carrots and I'm not sure I can eat that for 7 weeks solid. There's fat I think in the shakes so can't get around that but I'll try to cut down a bit if you think the fat is bad

The fat in the shakes is a lot lower than the amount of carbs.

I (inadvertently) did a 'real food' type of Newcastle diet, with good results.
It was very low fat, mainly salad and veg.
Minimal protein.

But it was something I looked into later, and from posts on here, it does seem if a lot of the calories come from fat, while the weight loss is still good, the actual 'reversal' or remission of type 2 doesn't seem to be as good.

So, I figure, the Newcastle diet was a set methodology, and the results from that methodology were known.
Why it works is theoretical though, so altering it is going to be shooting in the dark.

Ok I'll cut down the fat but can't cope without some

Probably means my calorie intake will be well below the 800 but that's fine as my body seems to be able to cope with that. Possibly because of being small

You need some fat. I went for seven weeks without any and really suffered for it. I would never do that again.

I was amazed what changes I could cope with.
Anything in fact.
For that period, food was simply fuel.
I changed my diet entirely, and changed my tastes. I even started eating sprouts.

I can cope with stir fried sprouts :)

I was fine.
No issues at all, apart from having to eat twice as much veg as the fat I wasn't eating. (Twice the calories in fat, it soon ate into the allowance)

So what do people think my proportions of fat carb and protein should be on this diet?

Naomi, I think what you are embarking upon is terrific and I look forward to watching your progress with great interest

Thanks Kevin. Going pretty well so far. Bit cold today but otherwise I'm not finding it that bad
