Humph another blip. Fbg 8.7 . Very annoying. Plateauing again. Think another run is due that seems to reinvigorate weight loss and lower bgl. Also bit of a headache this am. Not sure if it's a high bgl headache, one coz I'm hungry or one coz my sleep was a bit disturbed. Probably a combo

Disturbed sleep will dramatically raise your BG. Usually you get a liver dump every time you wake up, and it's accumulative.

I must say that in my multiple use of the Libre device, I have never seen this. The only time I notice an upward movement in my bloods, during the night, is should I wake with a full bladder. It reduces as soon as I deal with that.

In reality @Naomi425 , as a one-off, it could be anything, and day to day variances will occur for everyone. It does look like your trends are downward though. Well done.

Maybe you don't wake enough, but as you say, if you do wake to use the loo, your BG goes up.

When I get up to use the loo, by bloods blip up by around 0.1 or 0.2, so to me it'snot a material rise, but more of a curious observation.

Hmm not convinced of the biochemistry behind multiple dumps. My bgl on going to sleep was 7.8 so the dump wasn't that bad. Just a bit annoyed that my liver still is not learning . But hey my cells in general are still not learning. (Anthropomorphising biochemistry often helped me at uni- I know I'm a bit weird)

So despite the most stressful afternoon ever (took me 4.5hrs to get home of which 4 of those hours I was dying for the loo), my bgl 2 hrs after eating were 7.7 . I was dead worried as expected the cortisol to kick in and blast my levels. But maybe that's not my issue.

Didn't manage a run though as just needed to relax after the ridiculous drive home. Gym tomorrow so that should help.

Woohoo . 6.4 is my going to bed reading. Must do desperate for the loo more often

So interesting! I never realised that. Thanks. :)

So I reckon it took a bit of time for the cortisol to kick in and I'm showing its effects now(so dying for the loo isn't the cure for diabetes). My bgl a minute ago was 8.8 and I haven't eaten for 9 hours.(well drunk a milkshake to be more accurate). Be interesting to see how long before the cortisol disappears and bgl goes down again.

And the good news is I'm now below 9stone. Psychologically important for me. Next target is 8'12 for a normal BMI

Naomi,

Do you think the shakes might be too high carb? I have no idea what you're putting in them or what's in them. Just throwing it out there. Are your numbers higher after the shakes or the veggies ?

The shakes are pretty high in carbs but the ND theory is it makes no difference . The optifast 800 shakes are pretty high carb too which is what the pure ND people use. It's all about huge weight loss and fat coming off around your liver and pancreas.I don't measure before and after shakes. But I could try but I reckon the numbers won't be great. I was having a nice gentle reduction in the rolling average of my bgls and reckon these high levels today are probably all to do with the lack of WC facilities yesterday
