Advice on Newcastle Diet for smaller women

Hey guys really didn't want to get people frustrated. Seems to be a consensus now that 800 Cals would be fine for me (and I can't find anything specific on new website or Moseley book about smaller people ) but happy to go with this when I see dietician presuming that I don't hear anything different in reply to my email that I sent to Newcastle. Hope that's ok with everyone
You didn't get me frustrated, I just didn't want you to suffer like I have. Yes, no less than 800 cals sounds good to me. Good luck and let us know how you get on. We could well learn something from you too. :)

One general point I will make, based on the dialogue a bit further up is that on diagnosis, I trimmed up quickly just by reducing carbs, but even so, my waist area was fairly slow to "get with the programme". In fact, although my waist did trim up along with the rest of me, I have seen the most noticeable shift in my waist measurement after almost a year at a pretty stable weight (=/- 2kg, and rarely more than 1kg).

I didn't change any regime, or exercise more or anything, it just happened, taking me down a further skirt/trouser size.

Just mentioning it. :)

Lol dietician was fine. A bit scared for me but accepted that if this is what I want to do I should do it. She agreed to see me once every month once I've started and said she would read up on ND. Going to start ND on 4 May @ 800 cal per day

Excellent response there. It's brilliant that a lot of dieticians are accepting patients choices now, and providing support. The Newcastle diet is definitely proving to have good results with many on here. I wish you all the best with it, and I'm sure you'll see good improvements . Keep us posted.

Will do. Not saying she was delighted with it all but managed to convince her with my BG records that the NHS approved methodology wouldn't work for me.

So I'm starting tomorrow - my birthday. Seemed appropriate. Going to use diet drinks during the week and my darling partner will cook the 710cals for me on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It's 710 Cals coz I'm addicted to nicotine lozenges that give me 90 Cals a day. I'm going to post on this thread. Will totally understand if no one reads as it's about me me me. But I think it'll help if I keep records here

Good Luck Naomi

It was sensational for me but was hard work for the first couple of weeks. I'll definitely be following your progress and let us now if you have any questions or need to vent. Keeping a record on the forum is great as it keeps you focused and you get great little bits of support and advice along the way.

Cheers

I'll be following you, so post as often as you can.
I think the Newcastle Diet is the most exciting thing to break over type 2 diabetes, so I'll be cheering you on every step of the way.

Fbg 10.8. Weight 9 st 8. First shake imbibed . Not bad tasting at all. Strangely excited about starvation

If it helps I am 5'8 and 125# s and I only eat about 1000 cals a day and I am not starving by any means. Some days even less.

I'll be excited to watch that fasting come down.

Not so impressed by the strawberry shake but I'm moving on to veg stir fry now. Never done a dry stir fry before. Hope I don't burn everything

So I did 807 Cals today. Not bad. Don't feel at all awful but think it's the vegetables that are going to drive me mad not the shakes. I know I'm a bit weird.
