So very busy day and too late for dinner. So thinking just have cheese and biscuits no insulin (novo rapid) but still do my bedtime one as normal ??? Any thoughts if don't snack will have a hypo in the morning. Forgot to say have had vino too!!! Naughty girl ***

Hey Tyler, a glass of wine is fine, keeps you relaxed which in turns helps your BG levels, well that's what my DSN said !! Check your levels, take some quick acting for your biscuits and enjoy your cheese, as long as your not tipsy then ignore the insulin, I am guessing your not as your message was coherent ! Hope you had a good evening ;)

Thanks for your reply. Thought as much but sometimes just need a bit of reassurance don't we. I know for a fact if i don't snack then good morning to a hypo. Still all new to this **** Soz for language

It's all about trial and error, try to learn from hypos as they can tell you a lot and will help you avoid them in future, it will get better in time ;)

I completely agree with @Juicyj I don't bolus if I've had much to drink but if it's only one glass then I would.

With regards to the bedtime one is this your long acting insulin?
If it is then you should always take this regardless of whether you've eaten or not, food has no effect on this one, this is what keeps you stable without food.

Hope you enjoyed your wine and cheese!!

If you need to eat before bed to stop a morning hypo then it suggests your basal (long acting) dose is too high - have you done any basal testing?

I agree. My basal keep me very consistant from bed to morning.
