Advise needed on HBAC1 result

I have always been told I dont need to test my sugars, I might be discussing that point at the appointment tomorrow!:pompous:
That is what most of us type 2's get told, ignore that advise and test, test and more test . It is the only way that you will see how you are reacting to certain foods . We are all slightly different in what our body can tolerate.I have no OUTWARD signs of diabetes as such and I'm 5 yrs down the line so without testing or just waiting for my hba1c test I would be clueless and probably have a far higher BG .

I believe that your Hba1c, taken in the correct units, indicates that your average blood glucose level is about 12 mmol/l - which is quite high.
I do recommend that you get a cheap meter to test what your blood glucose is after eating, two hours from first bite, so that you can se if you can get the levels down to something more normal, which would probably make you feel a lot better in the long run - though after high levels you can have false hypos where you feel wobbly due to your brain having a tantrum at not getting a lovely sugary bath after meals.
