Hi guys,
I read somewhere that if one eats protein the pancreas releases both insulin and glucagon at the same time.
I wonder why ? It could really mess up a reactive hypoglycemics blood glucose!
Given the encouragement we get here we can all work through our various problems or come to terms with them.

It is very frustrating Kristin251. I'm not type 1 but it sounds like we experience the same symptoms. You go along quite nicely for a while and then things unexpectedly change! It's such a pain and I wonder if I can ever live a "normal" life again
We always have some sliced cheese in the fridge, for emergencies.
And i like peanut butter (any nut butter).
A 9 bar would do too.
Heck, even standing at the fridge door taking a small swig of milk...
It is hard to advise you though, because your body will process those foods differently from mine... Plus there is so much variability in the speed of drop, and portion size is relevant too.
I'm really pleased they don't think you've got Hughes syndrome. Must have been a big relief! Sounds like you're getting quite a few tests. I'm pleased for you and hope you get some answers very soon X.Hey Kat sorry to hear you are having these problems.
I saw the Hughes specialist last week and he said that although I have the antibodies I am not showing any physical signs of having tha syndrome and there are carriers of the antibodies who never suffer from any adverse effects Apparently 50% of the population would test positive. Anyway he is running all the tests for lupus and other autoimmune conditions so I have to wait and see.
The more I think about it though I am quite sure I have mild dumping syndrome with connected RH. I've been reading a lot about it and I have all the digestive issues of the dumping people but I don't have constant upset tummy that some have. However sometimes I eat and get a headache right away and it's lot blood sugar related so I don't know.
Hopefully when I see the consultant for RH we will start to put together a pictures of what is happening to me.
I get wobbly sometimes too on levels that don't make sense to me. That's why I wonder if I am dumping. I've also found out that many other dumpers et stutters when their blood is spiking and they all suffer with blood glucose control. It's all very interesting.
Emma xx
