That's so hard! I, too, have been checking on your thread throughout the day. Is there anything we can do to distract you? Are you still in hospital? How are your son and husband cooing without you?

Edited cooing should be coping!

No words that will hasten the results or stop you worrying. Have they given you any idea when results will come? Til then? Distraction, sleep, self care, talk it out with nurses, us, anyone who’ll listen. Whatever helps

It’s one of the hardest parts of the journey - waiting for results, but think of it this way, had you not been admitted into hospital you would still have at least a week before the CT scan so you are head of the game - trying to put a positive spin on it. x

Oldvatr is so right - my hospital DN was positively encouraging porridge for breakfast whilst they were also retaining me in hospital because by BG would not drop below 9!

There are no cancer cells in the lung fluid sample. Of course, the consultant said to be cautiously optimistic about this, as there is still a small chance it has spread. I may have the drain removed, and then I can go home. The multidisciplinary team meet tomorrow and will ring us to sort out the next stage.

Cautiously optimistic is good! Fingers crossed for good news for you, hopefully you can get home soon and although you’ve got a long and sometimes rough road in front of you there’s no place like home, you can gather your thoughts and get ready to get well again x

The great thing about MDTs is they are just that. They're all talking in one room, so everyone gets their input at the same time.
