What a difference from the start of this thread! You are doing really well! Hugs!

Do you manage exercise too Ally? I can't walk far because of the ms but I have an exercise bike and I can pedal slowly..lots of people on here get their bgs down even further with exercise and its great when you are trying to lose weight!

rarely do exercise but i do tend to walk quicker when i do walk anywhere
i should look into getting an exercise bike

I miss my walks. But I find if I use my bike it cuts my appetite down...and I can get away with a little 85% chocolate..so off you go...get your scarf and wooly hat on and go for lovely brisk walks lol. Come the new year you will be posting Ally1 thread full of all the weight loss together with normal bs readings! :)

Walking is the best exercise for us. It doesn't have to be far, and 30 minutes is fine. It is also free. There is no need to deliberately set out on a walk. You can get on the bus a stop after you normally do, and get off a stop earlier. Then two stops and build up gradually. It all helps with weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and general well being.

bit high for my liking

What did u have? Tbh it's the pre that was high, due I guess to the high fasting so it's your fasting figure that needs working on which the increased Metformin should help with... When you see Dr or DN that's something you could ask for advice in dealing with.. But at least you are starting to recognise when things need working on. Great about the walking too.. I have a cheap exercise bike and find that doing about 30- 40 minutes at least 5 days a week has helped by weight no end and my BP.

Yes, Ally, I agree with Cold Ethyl. It was your before reading that needs attention. The actual rise wasn't at all bad. Clearly you hadn't come down after your breakfast. Did you have a mid morning snack?

no mid morning snack and had egg and 3 rashers of bacon for breakfast, which i normally have

Well your breakfast was fine. It seems it is all down to your post breakfast level not dropping enough. Maybe a walk in the mornings after breakfast? Or some extra housework? I have no other ideas. Let's hope for a better result at tea time.

just before bed, i had some cheese, tea was chicken, brocolli asnd cauliflower

Hi Ally your really doing well on the numbers, but you would be surprised that when you have a number like the 8.1 a quick walk even for 15 minutes will bring it down and usually very quickly. I had an 8.5 myself yesterday, that was high me had to go for a walk and got it down, did 25 mins 9.30 at night but ended back at 6.3
