AMAZING first clinic visit!

Great news Defren. I am so pleased for you! A supportive GP is worth his/her weight in gold. Its not just for now but for the future.
I used to see an enlighened Gp . I really felt he was on my side. He was not the Diabetes specialist so it was sometimes a litle diffficult to see him when it was diabetes related but I managed it for 3 years.

Makes it harder to cope with what I have now as i have something to contrast it with.
What an enormous relief for you.
Lovely to hear success stories like yours and to know that there are still some GPs out there who have courage and integrity.
Well done.

Oh he is worth is weight in diamonds and platinum believe me. I swear if he ever moves practice, I am to stalk him, sell up and move beside him so he continues to be my GP. It is only with him and this forum I am where I am. Thanks unbeliever.

Are you still on Cloud 9? :D

Well done you!

Don't, whatever you do, tell us his name and address.....or he'll have a glut of new patients!

Ha ha hi Jules. Oh believe me, anyone in the North East who wants to know I am more than happy to share. He is brilliant. I am now on cloud 12 after passing 10 and 11  Thank you so much, today is a very, very good day. Missed you on the other site, it keeps showing you not signing in, sign in and say howdy  xx

You, xxy and BF have been my biggest supporters, helpers and saviours. It is you three along with Jeanne who have given me the support and kick when I needed it. That along with all the others who have offered advice and support along the way. I owe this forum so much, and I mean that. Thank you Grazer. Now mop the tears wet wool smells something awful

I knew you could do it Def, you have willpower of iron and you're a shining example to all diabetics.
Your Doctor's response is just a measure of how far you've come. Looking forward to hearing about your kicking your diabetes in the ass on the New******e diet (I can't bring myself to type that word) and inspiring the rest of us like you've inspired your Doc!

Xyzzy and BF you've made me cry. I have been on the verge since the clinic but you two have tipped me over the edge. You guys are the best. Jo xx

Hi All.
I - so just ' love ' a fantastic thread like this one!
Brilliant story and results defren, brilliant support and help from caring thoughtful fellow members.
Supporting and so encouraging with you on your journey to where you are now.
This IS what this forum is all about...
It made me 'beam' and smile reading this thread. [glassy teary eyed too!]
Any houses for sale near you defren??? Bet some would love to be your neighbour and share your fabulous GP

Hey girl

i am really proud of you. you are such an inspiration and motivation...to see someone working so hard and doing so well....and getting such great results...i am really proud of you! and when can i rub some of that off me :) :)

i wish i had met someone like you and the rest of the forum when i got diagnosed 8 years ago..maybe i would have been able to really do something about it and not destroy my pancreas probably for good....

well done Def!!! pom poms out again.....your own cheerleading team is out there again :)

Shu - perb Defren

I'm feeling all warm towards this GP too lol

Well done, you deserve the praise from him

Full tears mode here, I am crying like a baby. Thank you ALL so much for the kind words, love, support and encouragement. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make you all none diabetic and healthy. In many ways with all your love and support that is what you are doing for me. I like all of us will never be cured, or at least not for the foreseeable future, but your unwavering support as I do the Newcastle diet, your advice and kindness while I struggled to eat, the kindness and kicks up the butt I had when I was down and needed a kick up the butt. In all just the absolute and total support you have given. I know I can be a cow bag at times, and not always the most patient, but you overlooked my foibles and carried on supporting me. We all know this journey is not an easy one, but by hell it would have been so much harder for me without all you guys.

Ok, I am almost out of kleenex and tears, so gonna shut up. All I can say is thank you, every single member of this forum, thank you!! Jo xx

Brilliant, brilliant result, defren. Well done mate .........

Andrew

Thank you PT and Andrew. I wonder though Andrew, could I be a matess please, mate doesn't seem to sit well for a woman some how

Well done Defren! Hang on to that GP for dear life - I have one like that, worth his weight in gold.

Keep it up! or rather, down, for weight & BGs  It gives you a real incentive to carry on, doesn't it?

Oh it certainly is Viv. He has always been a super GP but his attitude to diabetes puts him in a different league. Thanks for your support too Viv, it was following your modified Atkins diet at under 20g of carbs a day that put me on the right road.

Wow!
where is this paragon practicing?
I want to move
