I had a follow-up call with the doc this morning who seemed quite impressed with how things are going and he's agreed with me going down to 1 x 500mg Metformin now, with a view to coming off it if my next hb1ac is also under 48. If I'm then still under 48 at my annual review in March next year then they'd regard me as being in remission. Basically suggested continuing doing what I'm doing with the low-carb and keeping my weight down, as it's clearly working well.

@niblue I have “binge read” this thread, being intrigued by your journey. Huge congratulations on such awesome numbers.

I met a new nurse who did the foot check a couple of weeks ago and had the pleasure of seeing her jaw drop when I told her my HbA1c level.

Thank you, I have been with them since I was diagnosed several years ago. It’s the only way I can get my results as my GP’s surgery never lets me know.
