After previously posting on here back last nov I think, which was fairly soon after being diagnosed as a Diabetic and being started on novomix 30 straight away, I have suffered ill health with my kidneys have had 3 surgeries on them and had my gall bladder out within the last 7 months plus 4 bouts of systemic sepsis so have had some pretty serious infections. At the time I was diagnosed I was told by the Diabetic specialist doctor that my high blood sugars were probably due to the infections I have had and that once my surgeries were over I would be able to come off the insulin, as far as I am aware the only test they did on me at the time was the hba1c which was 90 at the time.
Why am I worried, my operations are all over I no longer have infections or any inflammatory markers in my blood.
I am working really hard on what I eat and drink, I only drink water or no added sugar squash rare cup of tea with sweetener, no sweets biscuits, cakes, bread, have very rare boiled potato have brown rice yet my sugars are seldom in single figures my insulin has been upped again to 30 b4 breakfast 22 b4 dinner, blood sugars are usually around 9.8-10.4 fasting 6.30 am, 10.6 - 14.5 b4 lunch 1pm, 9.5-10.9 6.pm, 10.5- 12.6 b4 bed 10.pm. I have since November had readings in the 5.4 range twice and have had readings as high as 19 and 20 three times .
I had to chase the hospital up for an appointment to see the specialist as originally I was told I would have to wait for a yearly check, I eventually got through to them that I was supposedly only put on insulin as a temporary measure, I am due to get my bloods done on the 8th of February and see the consultant on the 15th February.
I am I guess afraid of what they will tell me, I am worried that even though I am honestly being very good with my diet my blood sugar does not seem to be coming down I just seem to be told all the time increase by two by the diabetic nurse specialists over the phone from the hospital.
I am not too worried if they tell me I have to continue to inject myself as long as my numbers come down.
I am avidly reading through all information I can get and read through many posts on here.
Thank you for listening
