Ally, you had a lot to say on another thread until I posted this. I would appreciate your comments - in my experience, diabetics are being fed rubbish information & advised to eat food that will CAUSE COMPLICATIONS.
Please note my questions. I've added one.

It has much useful info BUT it includes these gems:
Ally - will you endorse or criticise this?various foods are broken down in your gut into sugars.
No mention of what foods
the main aims of treatment are:
to keep your blood glucose as near normal as possible.
target HbA1c 6.5 - 7.5%
Obviously that is intended to imply the normal range - but I had complications at 6.7.
Actually the non-diabetic range is 3.5-5.0.
some people check their actual BS each day. If you are advised to do this your Dr or nurse will give you instructions
Obviously not necessary, except on professional advice.
healthy diet as recommended for everyone - low fat, high fibre, plenty of starchy foods, fruit & veg.
This is dangerous disinfo in my experience. There is no mention of cutting back on sugar!
1. What is your recommendation for HBA?
2. Patient testing?
3. Quantity of starchy foods?
4. Can you refer us to an simple leaflet you endorse, or even post the info you give your patients?
