I feel as though I have lost the plot! My BG number seem to have got a will of their own.

I was diagnosed Aug '17 with pre diabetes, I went onto a LCHF diet, about 3 months later the doc said I did not have any diabetes, I still carried on with LCHF so I did not go backwards again. I have lost in total 19 Kilos and stick to around 20 carbs a day. In the last 6-8 months I feel I have gradually been slipping as my BG's do not seem to go the way I want.

I the mornings I was having 2 boiled eggs with butter which started off OK and after 2 hours would put my numbers by 3 or 4 mg/dl. This gradually got higher until the same breakfast was putting me up by 30mg/dl, so I have switched to no breakfast now just a tea with cream but this is gradually creeping up too now, by lunchtime I am back to the same BG's as I got up with (which go between 104 and 120). I have tried 2 eggs and bacon in the mornings but my body did not like that either or greek yogurt and cream.

At lunchtime being back to where I got up with numbers, I feel like I am starting all over again to get them down - today I had 2 eggs and bacon which was always good at lunchtime - not today, it sent me up 14 mg/dl's after 2 hours, so now I got up 113 mg/dl had just a tea with cream, 1 hour later 127, 2 hours later 123. Lunchtime 113, 2 eggs and bacon - 2 hours later 127. dinner time I am still normally about 101 to 108.

Any thoughts please

Those still look like pretty ok numbers.. what is your highest and lowest recently?.. obviously having to translate the figures makes it a bit diif but if you are between 72 and 126 most of the time (4-7 in mmol/l terms) you should be fine..

I need to eat a few gm of carbs from fruit or veges with breakfast. It can be a tomato or left over veges from dinner, and that stops the increase in BG, but protein and fat do not do the trick.

Tomorrow I will try cabbage with something then, tomatoes have been spiking a bit lately. Thanks

Hi @ bulkbiker my lowest was before dinner 90 (5.) on 24/11/18 My highest was 25/11/18 got up 107 (6.) 137 (7.6) 2 hours after 2 boiled eggs and a cup of tea with cream.

Edited to add - I often get 127 and 131.

Thanks

OK but that can be within the tolerance levels of your meter (15% variation) so you could well be fine most of the time..

I find this very interesting.
It is the Libre graphs from a student without diabetes (or prediabetes).
Whilst it is only one person, it is useful for me to see that without diabetes, our BG can go higher than 130. You can see this chap gets about 170 (9mmol/l in my currency).

So, in comparison with the values you see @Birdwoman (lovely flowers by the way), your BG is better than someone without diabetes.

Thanks for that, I just feel I am losing it a bit. If I could stop my mornings going up, I would have all day to get them down more but I will try what @Resurgam says and see what happens.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks @ helensaramay. By the way, the flowers are out of the garden.
