Hi all,
I have been a T1 for just over 2 years now and ever since diagnosis I've noticed the following happen quite a lot. Has anyone else experienced any / all of these?
1) I regularly leave my chemists looking like I have taken half of the contents of the place with me
2) People keep asking me if I am a low sugar or a high sugar diabetic when I tell them I'm diabetic
3) The same people tell me that if I control my eating then I won't end up a T2
4) Strange men play with my feet once a year
5) My other half assumes I must be having a hypo if I am pis*ed off with her for anything
6) Younger relatives ask if they can watch me inject and then tell me it's disgusting
7) My old 'little plate' cupboard has evolved into my diabetic cupboard
8) Suddenly I've noticed that nearly everyone either is or knows a diabetic person
9) Every few weeks I get a letter saying someone needs me to pee in pot or give blood
10) You seriously contemplate taking out shares in the company that manufactures Dextro's
11) Instead of having nice suprises like finding money in the pockets of jeans you haven't worn for a while you instead find Dextro's or if you are really luck some jelly beans or a tracker bar.
Just wondered if this is normal.
