Riva sent his goodbyes early this year: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today-low-carb-forum.75781/post-2618620Another missing member is @Riva-Roxaban, though he had a terminal diagnosis
It’s so sad when loyal members disappear whatever the reason is.
Thanks @Antje77 , I guess the inevitable happened soon afterRiva sent his goodbyes early this year: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today-low-carb-forum.75781/post-2618620

Members who haven't been around for a long time don't show up as a proposed tag, but if you write their name correctly with an @before and a space after it will tag them all the same.Edit to add, I don’t seem to be able to tag some members lately.
I’ve been here since May ‘17, I joined the day I was diagnosed! Great placeWho originally started this forum? I am I think 3 years in this Christmas, hard to believe as I never really do forums. This one is lovely. That's a point how long have folks been on here x
Sorry to hear about your lack of support at home. At least you have that in bucketloads here!I joined last year.I was just a reader not a poster but now I do post.I get no support/interest at home so its nice to get advice and thumbs up.thankyou.
I got curious so I did some searching.Who originally started this forum? I am I think 3 years in this Christmas, hard to believe as I never really do forums. This one is lovely. That's a point how long have folks been on here x
Thanks so much for search Antje77, I wonder if they can throw any light on it all, I find it fascinating!I got curious so I did some searching.
The oldest thread I could find was started on oct 24 2006: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/outing-false-claims-diabetes-companies.36/ but it doesn't look like this was the start of the forum.
One particular post in that thread implied that this forum was some sort of follow up from another forum: "We do have one contributor to this site (Karen, I think it was) who on the old forum told of her treatment for type 2 diabetes". (https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/outing-false-claims-diabetes-companies.36/post-5833)
The oddest thing is that this thread was started by @Administrator in 2006, but the account for Administrator shows them as having been a member since 2008. So maybe some threads have been moved from that 'old' forum to this one to start this forum, and this thread may be older than the forum itself. Just speculating though.
I think @lovinglife is one of our longest standing still active members, joined in 2009, she may remember something? Or maybe @AndBreathe knows?
I must admit I lurked around on here for a bit before being a member. Best thing I have done in a long timeI joined last year.I was just a reader not a poster but now I do post.I get no support/interest at home so its nice to get advice and thumbs up.thankyou.

Hi @Hiitsme , there are 3 different fasting reading threads with different amounts of chat ranging from almost no chat to way more chat than fasting readings, and a thread including physical activity with the fasting BG.I joined in 2015 having been lurking since I was diagnosed. I used to post on the old type 2 fasting reading but there were problems which I didn't understand but when another type 2 fasting reading came along it was very low chat. I am still looking for where I can interact a bit more but so aware of the differences between type 1 and type 2.
