I'm into month 4 now. I'm taking a 1mg dose. I'm taking the shots which were a bit of a learning curve.

I do feel the reduction in appetite. Meals are smaller, I get fuller faster. But I've noticed the sweet cravings coming back. I could be doing better on watching what I eat. But it's all a learning curve.

I’ve been on oral semaglutide 7mg daily for over a year (before that I was on Victoza injections another GLP 1 med which became unavailable), so nearly two years on some sort of GLP 1 meds. My appetite remains smaller and after fairly quick weight loss to begin with, I’m still losing but very slowly. I’m now approaching my target weight, but hope I’ll be allowed to continue on it as my HbA1c has remained non diabetic along side a low carb diet. I have been lucky and have had no side effects.

I was on the injections for a year, I lost weight although I never lost my appetite and greatly reduced my HBA1C. But it made me randomly vomit and I had a continual feeling of dread. I had to stop taking it and the weight went back on. I’m now trying the tablet version.

I did 3 months in the Ascend Plus trial and was randomised onto the placebo and my appetite came back and I gained most of the weight I had lost. Although when I was on it, my HbA1c was the best it had been in years. Persuaded my GP to prescribe it for me even though I didn't quite meet the criteria but have terrible stomach problems on metformin.

I had two months on the 3mg (as I was away for 3 weeks and didn't want to increase the dose whilst I was away) and am half way through first month on 7mg. I have no appetite and have to be careful not to eat too much otherwise my stomach complains. I get the occasional burpy feeling and sometimes a bit of an acid stomach, but I'm prepared to stick with it as I have lost 8kg. I get my HbA1c checked in April, so hoping for a similar one to when I was on the trial.
