I think I might be having some sort of reaction due to wearing CGMS!! IMG_3551.jpeg

From the picture it’s not clear where the reaction is? Is it directly under where a CGM was sited?
I had to crop the pic! It’s on my forearm. No to directly under were CGM is sited

Maybe completely unrelated to the CGM then? I would ask the local pharmacist for their opinion.

It only seems to have come on since wearing the CGMS! I did use to suffer from Eczema when I was a bit younger.

But I guess you’ve started new medication too since your diagnosis?

It’s not unheard of to be allergic to insulin. However I would keep it simple and assume it’s just something that has come into contact with your arm. Like I said before have a word with your pharmacy, they can be incredibly helpful.

@Neckarski_94 Is the rash only in one place or does it appear anywhere on your body? Is it asymmetrical or symmetrical ? I’m assuming you alternate your CGM each time. Does it appear around your CGM? My skin can sometimes become irritated from the adhesive, but I’m the same with bandaids.

I’m someone who suffers from skin rashes. They itch and burn at the same time. Mine tend to be symmetrical, that is if they appear on my right arm , it will also appear on my left arm. As previously suggested I would check in with your pharmacist or make an appointment to see your GP. They will no doubt ask you a bunch of questions. I would make notes, like when they appear, how long the rash is present, are there any other symptoms , are they symmetrical or asymmetrical, do they itch or burn or both etc . It will help them determine what’s causing the rash. And as has already been pointed out, stress can cause rashes. Food sensitivities also cause rashes. They can appear out of nowhere, rather annoyingly so. Certain medications also cause skin issues. So the more information you give them the better.

My rashes are an autoimmune response to gluten. No gluten, no rash.

Both arms. Doesn’t seem as bad on my right arm. Yes I alternate CGM.

Try putting it somewhere other than your arms may prove or disprove the theory

You did say you'd had eczema when you were younger, so it is possible that the diabetes stress has just made it flare up

I know I get eczema/skin issues every so often - my dad also gets eczema so I probably inherited it from him, though his is worse and he is not diabetic.
I also know I need to use a barrier film for anything I stick on my stomach (infusion kits mostly) otherwise I will react to it - but it is always directly under where the sticky stuff was - I get the same reaction (anywhere on me) from the white sticky tape that is supposed to be hypoallergenic they use in the docs/hospital

I had terrible reactions to the Libra when I stuck it on either arms. Itchy, felt like I had been punched, bruising, weepy rash and took weeks to sort out. I did contemplate putting it somewhere else and decided the bin was the best place! Never again.
