We have discussions in the Forum about what can be causing T2D in this modern age, and usually the response varies from red Meat to Carbs, to lifestyle etc.
Well I came across this article and it rings a few bells for me. What do others think?
It is fairly up to date (2022)
Is it biassed? - Probably.
Does it have evidence ? - it cross references public archived study reports
Is it single sourced? - I have seen similar studies in my travels.
Particularly interested in the section describing cholesterol. This is contrary to what the current thinking on LDL lowering medications would espouse. The evidence it offers is quite strong IMO
I am not so sure if the comments regarding environmental issues are as strong. I have not checked against the WHO database so reserve comment. Certainly Palm oil culture in the Philipines is a known problem. I believe soybean culture in the Amazon is also largescale, but that is often blamed on meat products. It is true that the USA imports soybean for chickenfeed. But it is toxic for cattle and other ruminants so blaming cattle for deforestation may also be a bias.
