Shame, you don't have to believe everything you read, but I think it's important to know what anyone is saying whether you believe it or not.. . . . . . I stopped reading once I reached the word 'naturopath'.
That's exacctly what happened to me - I ran out and forgot to get more and suddenly I had high BP again. I then tried a few more BP meds from the GP and after we got to calcium channel blockers and ghastly headaches, I googled "natural supplements for BP" and Co-Q10 popped up. It was a bit of a Eureka (aka 'DOH you idiot') moment for me. Now I always make sure I have a reserve supply on hand. The interesting thing is that my BP is pretty good while I'm taking it, but I ran out recently and have noticed there's a tendency for my BP to go haywire. I need to get some more Ubiquinol and see what happens then.
Hi @desidiabulum I've been thinking.... If I were you I would ask myself why your heart specialist didn't mention CoQ10 to you? Here's the first source I googled...
http://www.healthline.com/health/coq10-and-statins#Overview1
It's a recognised supplement that's used as a treatment for the heart and many other conditions. It seems odd to me that a heart specialist doesn't even mention it when prescribing statins. I would have thought the gentler the treatment the better? Anyhow, you and I obviously have different opinions re these matters and that's fine, it would be a boring world if we were all the same. I'm not looking to convert you into my way of thinking or looking for an argument. I just thought I'd mention it before leaving your thread.
Good luck with your consultant
best wishes

Because my doctor is on holiday and I've run out of the statin, I've decided to stop taking them.Hi, I'm awaiting my doctors phone call from a blood test I had done last Monday to see if atoravastatin has had an effect on me since I started taking them a month ago.
I'm not certain about if I have had side effects, but I have been a bit more tired.
I would recommend you to speak to your GP!
Thanks dd!Well done Nosher!!!
