Basal testing on keto

Hi all,

I started on a ketogenic diet ten days ago. I'm loving the huge improvement in BG control, but I do seem to need small correction boluses after meals. I'm impatient in respect of getting my insulin doses right, and just wondering: How long should I wait before doing basal tests? I know the keto-adaptation process varies between individuals, but does anyone have any advice or ideas?

Thanks.

I did some basal tests before I started Keto properly. But soon after starting Keto ( a week into the Keto diet) I ended up doing another basal test, mainly as I was going hypo frequently.

Not sure if thats the “correct” way of doing it but it worked for me.

Well I'm about 10 weeks in now, and doing basal tests galore! My insulin needs are indeed changing as time goes on. It seems it's not a simple switch-over to keto, more of a gradual change. For me, that is, anyway.
