I know this has been discussed allot, but this does summarize some of what has been discussed.
In general it is as expected stating that people with diabetes that high a hba1c and or are obese are at higher risk. That suggests that those with a lower hba1c and a lower BMI are at lower risk
It does also state that age is a much higher factor, and since many elderly end up with diabetes many of the deaths will fall into that pool. Elderly over weight people with diabetes would fall into the very high risk.
