Just a quick one! What sort of reading are you happy to go to bed with? Iv just tested at 5.2 and wondering if I need to eat a little something to boost it or if its ok? (Cut out carbs last few days and not used to such good levels)

oh sorry dunno then, hopefully a type one will be along to help

I'd want at least 8 to 9,,hopefully cutting down hypo risk.
Only had 1 in the night it woke me up. Don't want to go there again.

holy **** thats a lot of meds, you must rattle alan

Personally on mdi, id of needed a snack to last through. Usually cause id still have a little qa in me from tea so with that and the basal with that level would need a snack.

5.2 is a little low before bed and I would have a small snack. What are your usual bedtime levels ?

I prefer to be over 6.5 before bed

It depends on how recently I'd done my dinner insulin for the size if the snack, but generally a Jaffa cake (9g carb) will suffice. Everyone is different though of course!

My levels stay steady during the night, so I would be happy with anything in the 5s, but I always leave at least 4 hours between my last QA and bed so I don't have any active on board. If unsure I would have a wee snack before bed to bring me up into the 6/7s to be on the safe side.

I think much depends on how your bg fluctuates throughout the night and whether you still have IOB.

My own bg doesn't shift much more than 1mmol during the night but I still prefer to be above 5.5 before bed but no more than 7mmol, testing is the only way to find out the minimum bg level that you can safely go to bed on.

It depends on the individual...............

I would go to bed on anything above 5...........provided I knew my basal was OK.........

Thank you for all your replies - I felt a little light headed (probably not used to being in normal range!) So ate a couple of little choc drops (I should get some better things in!) And woke up 5.7 this morning so happy with that
