Advice please, since being on the LCHF diet I have had increased episodes of belching .. As time has gone on the belching has got longer. Is this normal for this way of eating.. I feel fine ..no other problems and sugars are under control.
I will bring this subject up when I next see my Dr if it's not stopped beforehand.. Just wondered if it's just me ..or the LCHF diet :cyclops:

It could simply be the lack of fiber in your diet ...that can cause excessive gas to be produced. Hopefully it is something that simple

Better up than down, as my Mum used to day :D. Seriously though, I agree with Gezzabelle - are you getting plenty of fibre?
I had similar when I did the Low Glycemic diet...ate loads of protein and could belch and ummm break wind for England.....protein makes you produce copious amounts of gas :D

I never burp. Maybe it's because I get so much fibre in my diet on LCHF. I do get a bit of wind though.

Thanks folks .. I am vegetarian..so quite a lot of vegetable fibre..not over high on the protein either ... The wife says I gulp my food .. So that may be it :bag:
Edit to add .. No bad breath or tummy pain ... Not toilet problem or wind !
Edit again to add .. The wife eats the same and has no problem ...so it must just be me !

You know the wife is going to be right lol....chew your food!!!!!.....and stop gulping it cos youre swallowing air...and if it goes down it has to come back up or you would go 'POP' :D

Fascinated as to how you can do LCHF when you are vegetarian?? Most eat lots of meat..so what do you eat as meat replacement that is low carb?

Hrm, vegetarians usually eat food. I'm an omnivore but my vegetarian friends eat a lot of cheese, eggs, lentils, beans, peas, vegetables, olive oil, coconut oil, butter, almonds, nuts, sesame seeds. They generally eat much the same stuff as me, apart from the roast lamb or the mackerel in lemony butter.

If you are on metformin, that is well known to cause your problem.
Since, I'm in ketosis, all my wind, has decreased dramatically, and my toilet activity has improved so much.
So much healthier these days!

I'm not a veggie but am on LCHF without eating loads of meat.
I think the HF is a bit misleading.
I consider myself to be on normal fat ...NF not HF like my mother and father and most other people would have been before the propaganda machine started up with the semi skimmed skimmed low fat no fat propaganda where the fats ... the perfectly normal healthy fats were removed and replaced.... with sugar ... sugar that has no food value whatsoever but a huge profit potential.
Sugar is not food it is a drug an addictive drug that makes people fat and rots your teeth.
Turns out fat is good and healthy and natural but not so easy to make money from.
No housewife and mother before 1970 would have dreamed of throwing away the fat from the roasting tin ... dripping butties anyone?
So when I eat butter full fat yoghurt full cream milk cream etc I consider myself to be eating good old fashioned levels of fat from natural foods as opposed to factory industrialised foods where the fats have been removed and often replaced with sugar.
Sugar is not a food and it's far from natural to have millions of tons of it available all around us in almost every product.
It's a modern money making scam that has turned out to be as dangerous as heroin.
So natural healthy food full of fats it is for me .... mostly dairy and plant fat as it turns out.
I've lost weight gotten my diabetes under excellent control lowered my blood pressure lowered my bad cholesterol upped my good cholesterol lowered all my medications and feel tons better simply putting that way of thinking into practice.
Thanks to the people of this site.

And my doctors are dumbfounded and annoyed and feeling a little silly.
