Type 2
My last 3 bg readings have been
25.3 1 he after dinner
20.9 2 hrs after dinner
21.5 3 hrs after dinner
Taking really bad sweats and have really bad cotton mouth
what should I do?
Advice please

Do you take any meds?
Have you taken them?

Those are pretty high numbers. I'd be inclined to contact the GP or call 111.

Hi @James1968

Sorry to bug you with more questions but what (and when) was your last HbA1c and are you following a particular diet or just eating "sensibly" (according to NHS guidelines, eg)?

Also, yes, go for a walk and burn some of that sugar up and do keep an eye on that BG. Do consider the advice of other posters and call 111 for some guidance.

I hope things improve and you start to feel better shortly.

I think last was about mid 60s

Thanks
Due another at end of month

Potatoes?
I'd have about the same numbers if I'd eaten any amount of potato.
Substituting cauliflower is good, and a lifesaver. I steam the florets and then melt grated cheese over them
The heavily carb vegetables are best avoided.

Yeah I was ok with them but this has done it I think

Spuds do it for me and beetroot is pretty high carb too.
If this was a sudden rise after previously low levels on a similar diet then I think you need to contact your GP or seek qualified medical advice soonish.

And a Tesco Crustless Cheese And Bacon Quiche 160G for example has 22g of carbs add that to the potato beetroot etcetera and you have a fair amount of carbs to contend with..

And I also think if you have had similar meals before without the high jump in BG after, you should seek medical advise.

All the same, to get rises like that after a meal is not good and I would advise speaking to your GP as this is way over...

I find jacket potatoes and beetroot are all a no no for me and would send me sky high.Speak to your GP or DN and let us know how things go, keep us up to date.Just a suggestion.........if you live in Scotland,(your avatar) the 'my diabetes my way ' site is great. You can access all your results,Hba bs,bp,weight, and individual targets all presented in clear charts, graphs etc, plus lots of other info. They haven't caught up with the diet bit yet,but this forum will help with that.:)

How are you today, @James1968 - are you feeling better? Was your fasting BG reading any better? Did you seek medical advice?

Hope you're on the mend now.
