Sorry I have enough trouble getting my head around what I have, that I know next to nothing about T1.Unfortunately, I've just been told by my doctor to take 10 units of novorapid per meal. Sometimes I think that maybe a bit too much and I usually have one hypo per day. I would love to be able to count carbs and work out the correct insulin dosage, but the doctor didn't seem keen when I asked him about it.

Does it mention that it is unsweetened? I used to use Soya yoghurt a few years ago and that was unsweetened. But I know a lot of companies that add sugar to Soya products to make it taste nicer. It can be very annoying, can't it?

It is total carbs that matters. not just sugar.
it is total carbs that count not just sugar.
Yes, that is true. That's why I switched from cow's milk to unsweetened Soya milk. Cows milk has 5g of carbs per 100ml, and unsweetened Soya milk just 0.2g of carbs per 100ml.
I find Soya milk delicious, so it's win win for me

It all turns to sugar. The soya yoghurt is still 10g per 100 total, all of it converts to sugar? ACTIMEL is 3.5 total carbs of which 3.3 turns to sugar?

Hello?
can you hear me?
It is cardohydrates
It all turns to sugar.
I've never had any trouble with Soya milk.Every time I added unsweetened Soya 'milk' to a fresh coffee it went into lumps - just like sour milk.
I have a thing about low bedtime readings, so when it happens (nearly every night) I have 30 grams of Rice Crispies with Alpro Chocolate Soya 'milk'. Hope it's low tonight...
J.
I buy the Tesco value Soya milk. It's in the long life milk section if you're ever tempted to try it.
I find it to be quite creamy with a slight nutty flavour.
When used to make porridge, you can't tell it's not cows milk. It's also good in tea and coffee.
Give it a chance, its only 59p. Word of advice though, I bought the Asda smartprice one and it's vile. I really don't recommend that one. Sorry Asda! Haha!

He is wrong. If you look at noshers comments earlier it states "which turns to sugar is the crucial one". But in any case the soya yoghurt is still 10g per 100, the lower fat one was 3.5

How many grams of fibre does the Soya yoghurt you've looked at have? Fibre is a form of carbohydrate that isn't digested, therefore, you shouldn't get much of a spike if the Soya yoghurt has a lot of fibre in it. But everyone is different. I'm afraid it's down to trial and error. If you look at noshers comments earlier it states "which turns to sugar is the crucial one". But in any case the soya yoghurt is still 10g per 100, the lower fat one was 3.5

Which sugars is the crucial one, BUT ALL CARBS turn to sugar!!!Which sugars is the crucial one, but all carbs convert to sugar. Myself, carbs are a poison to me and I have to stay away from them. I only get my carbs from low GI fruit and veg. You have to have them, but not many and the fat you eat converts what you need.
I quite like the taste of it just to drink. But if you weren't keen on almond milk, I'm not sure you'd like Soya milk. If you like to drink cows milk, opt for full fat. It contains less carbs. And then maybe you could use Soya milk in drinks and cereal?
