Though blueberries were not the cheapest berries in the s/m last time I looked it looks like they have even more advantages:

this weekend i decided to do a bit of random testing just to make sure the food i was trusting was still giving me good results with some good and bad results. ive found that the granola i eat with strawberries are fine 1 2 and 3 hrs after testing. 5.2-5.4-5.6. but same granola with blueberries cam ein at 5.2-7.8-6.1. does this means that blueberries are higher in sugar than strawberries. i thought blueberries were low sugar. mid morning snack a pear 6.0 after 2hrs however same snack same time different day, with a cup of coffe and milk 6.8. the milk must give a little spike. However this is the good bit 2 slices of nimble bread, chesse, salad and turkey for lunch 5.4-5.6-5.4. now i havent had bread for months because of the high spike but it didnt happen yesterday.only conclusion have is the fat and protein in the cheese and turkey slowed down the carb into the blood stream. i bet if it was 2 pieces of toast on its own the readings would of been double figures. anyone have any suggestions or findings. im getting great hba1c results but still need to test a little bit to much as trusting food is something i cant do now . ive been having blueberries for ages

I think you are headed in the right direction. Your hba1c is great. For sure when food are mixed, they change the glycemic load . Its great cause , in moderation , we can have some of our NO NO's.
Thanks for the post

Hi bedshaped,
I bet if you ate the same meals at the same time every day there would still be differences in your readings. I have tried this and know it to be true for me. Use all the food groups at every meal.

Your body may have more stress on some days, you may have exercised more or less, you may be sickening for something , if female, it may be the time of the month, etc.......
You mention eating toast on it's own, carbs on their own will certainly raise your blood sugars.
How about making your own Granola, Muesli and then you know which ingredients to put in? Plenty of recipes online and you can adapt your own.

Hope this helps,
Catherine.
