Hi Everyone. Im 38 years old, type 1 since 2020 and have been getting a dazed and blurry vision symptoms periodically, followed by a pounding headache ( approximately once every fortnight) since i was in my teens. Does anyone on on here have these or similar issues. Not sure if it’s diabetes related or not.
Thanks for any advice on this matter!!

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Have you talked to your GP about this? My guess (and I am not a doctor) is that if this has been happening since your teens it is unlikely to be diabetes related, though it would be interesting to know whether your blood sugars are particularly low or high when it happens.

Thanks for the reply. I have mentioned it to my GP but she never took it any further in regards testing. The symptoms are happening more often now as i get older but i do remember as a teen getting these symptoms sporadically. There’s no real pattern to when it comes on, can happen day or night. Ive been told in the past it could be a vitamin d issue or also possibly due to dehydration but if you google blurred vision/migraine, guess what comes up…. Diabetes!!

It's normal for undiagnosed diabetics with high blood sugars to get blurred vision, so that may be the cause of the google result.

Honestly, if I were in your position I'd be pushing my GP for more tests.

Hypos, rude people, ignorance and grey days.
Not sure if you're female/male, but as a female it could be linked to hormonal issues with periods, agree though this needs to be checked over by a GP, otherwise it's all speculation.
