Apologies, great read and "liked"Please see my response here http://www.bmj.com/content/349/bmj.g4485/rapid-responses In the article they are wondering if its worth telling patients they are pre-diabetic - as you see my experience is that patients appreciate the opportunity to make dietary changes (to cut all sources of sugar) I wish now I had said more about low carbing- but I never expected the BMJ to publish it, though the reference is there to the low carb article we wrote this year. They have published the average weight loss my patients achieved over 6 months and the average drop in HbA1c; this was done on the low carb diet

That's just what I think too -which is why I got all het up and wrote in!The pre-diabetes stage must surely be the best time to be informed ? There will be those that may ignore the warning but I would like to think the majority would at least try to make some dietary/lifestyle changes.
The Daily Fail are going to love that word loldiabesity
I would like to have been diagnosed pre-diabetic.
That's shockingMe too - I was tested with an HbA1c of 44 in 2008 (only discovered three months ago) - nothing was said.
