I know that this is a probably a stupid question but how to you guys bolus for nuts if at all, I'm about 500cals short aday in my intake and on the old pre-mixed regime I would just add about 100g of whole almonds on that and snack on those during the day and it never raised my levels, but on this MDI snacking on nuts seems to give slow raises later on due to the fats.

I really don't fancy taking a shot every time I chug down a handful or 2 of nuts.

Everyone is different, but I find that I have to bolus for nuts depending on how many I eat. I adore salted almonds, and if I eat a large handful I would normally give 1-2 units of Humalog depending on how my sugar level rises afterwards.

It would depend on the type of nuts - for example, cashews have a relatively high carb count whereas peanuts are lower.
My general rule of thumb when injecting was to inject for 10g or more of carbs.
If I was to eat two 5g carb handfuls of nuts in an hour, I would inject once for both handfuls.

I never Bolus for nuts or 85% chocolate. In practice I only Bolus if the carbs are over 30gm or as a correction.

Hmmmmm ok well 100g of whole almonds is only 7g or additional carbs aday and I wouldn't expect to bolus for that. But what about the 56g of fat?

Well I think the fat would just slow down any carbs. As I am not on an ultra low carb diet I only ever bolus for carbs, never for protein/fat.

I never bolus for them. Eat loads of almonds most days.

Exactly on twive a day pre-mix I used eat nut through out the day to keep hunger at bay and make up my calories and, on this MDI any kind of snack is a nightmare if it has >10g carbs I'll spike quick if its less and has higher protein or fat 'll spike a few hours later.

E.g yesterday I was 4.1 so had a handful of nuts may be like 50g so thats not much 3 hours later I was sitting at 11.8.
