BS readings

I could not manage without my excel spread sheet records and data averages. Apart from the fact it is how I learn by looking back, it keeps me motivated as I am in competition with my averages.

I'm not that organised... Hate figures and data after years of it at work. I'll probably have to get more sorted when I've lost my last bit of weight as I have not really tested many carbs or pushed the envelope on portion sizes as I know from experience that one slide of bread always leads to a loaf and so on... I'm hoping that being correct weight will give me more room to manoeuvre but I'm guessing I'll still have to avoid most carbs because of their addictive quality.

Well I'm chuffed.
Pre breakfast 6.9
After 5.8...it was eggs and mushrooms
Tested again to make sure
I don't generally go into the 5's until before lunch
Weight is finally stable and I seem to have found the balance between carbs and portions...I really didn't want to lose more. .fasting is at last coming down too
Its motivating me to be good over christmas

@alliebee Well done. It's all coming together for you now. Funnily enough, it was my morning readings (after breakfast) right up to an including pre-lunch that were the last ones to start behaving for me. Even though my fastings were low 5's, I was running in the 6's all morning, making my after lunch readings higher. I solved this by getting up an hour earlier. Hard work, but I'm used to it now, and my pre-lunch readings are now an acceptable mid 5 range.

Thankyou. I've been so impressed with what hard work and dedication you have put in ...I've enjoyed reading all your posts..you are so right it is hard work. When I've been discouraged or had a bad day you and so many lovely people have picked me up and its meant such a lot
Hoping my fasting is finally coming into line....it very reassuring to read posts where people have struggled and you feel you are not alone..people are so generous with advice too...I don't know what I would have done without this forum :)

Thank you, and I feel exactly the same as you. We are all struggling along the same path together, but being together on this, pulling each other along, and encouraging each other helps us all. There are so many brilliant people on this forum. I would be lost without it. You all keep me on the waggon, in as far as I'm ever on it in the first place! Long may it continue.

I do find coming on here has really been a lifesaver... My surgery is as much as a chocolate fire guard ( having switched to phone call consultations they are now allegedly going back to some appointments as so many folk have complained) so the help, advice and support on here has been invaluable.

Had a nightmare day... So here are my bs readings so far...

8.9 before breakfast
8.5 after breakfast

5.6 before lunch
6.3 after lunch

Keep it up mate ... your overall numbers you've been posting look good (in fact better than good) overall and that's 3/4 of the battle. The rest is just "mind" :)

Best Mike
Thanks Mike, it's the mind that's getting me occasionally, but I know I'm doing better than most.

Thanks for the tips re the apps. installed BGstar but is this not more for Type 1's, had a look round it and uninstalled. Installed 'Diabetes Companion by mySugr' but I'm not sure about that one either. Have and found very good but simple is 'Diabetes Diary' have my bloods on that but it dosen't accommodate food data.

OK today's figures are as follows

Pre breakfast 8.1 2hrs after 8.4
Pre lunch 5.9 2hrs after 6.2
I forgot pre evening meal but 2hrs after was 8.3 but I had expected that there were a few carbs on my plate.

But tonight will not end well as there is a home made freshly baked mince pie sat next to me at my desk, it won't be staying there much longer................

What did you have with your jacket? The 5.1 was probably a rogue reading. A lot of fat would have prolonged the rise.
