Burning tingling numbness

Good day
I am new here. First post etc. So am 39 with t2 diabetes almost 10yrs now..recently have been getting tingling in my feet, numbness in my right bigtoe, sometimes I feel like my hands and feet are on fire, my glucose was out of control (high) for some time a few years back... haven't seen a diabetic foot specialist yet but unsure if i should see one..could it be diabetic neuropathy? Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Do you get your feet checked every year as part of your diabetic review? I'm surprised they haven't picked anything up.

It could be diabetic neuropathy, but it could also be plenty of other things. I would definitely advise going to your doctor and asking his advice. As a T1, I've always been told to have regular visits to a foot specialist.

If it is diabetic neuropathy then I believe that your best bet is to try to keep your sugars as normal as possible.....

No I never got it checked doc never checked and I go doc once a month or every two months...

Do they check your eyes at all?

If you're in the UK, you should be getting annual checks on feet and eyes.... As well as hba1cs and probably blood pressure....

This condition was creeping up on me. Lowering my blood sugar and weight has helped to reverse the condition.

Hi. It sounds like you may not be in the UK? In the UK, the NHS says you need a diabetes check at least once a year and that must include a foot check for nerve damage. Is you BS under good control now?

Hi no am not in the UK and yes be is under control now well most times
