Hi, I have been having good and bad days, i stopped my keto diet around a month or so ago and strated reintroducing carbs- i actually think i'm allergic to them, anyhow, been feeling strange and decided to buy myself a ketone meter, it is a glucomen areo2k.. well i only had two test strips with it and used those up a few weeks ago, I have been waiting 3 weeks for some replacements to arrive and they did today, as such i decided to check them, now, i was bad today because i got up early and forgot to eat until 2pm -boiled eggs and a slice of toast- i'm embarrased to mention that because it really does send my high. Anyhow, my ketones pre eating were 0.7 and i though if i ate they may go down? i felt ok a couple of hours later.

However, after eating dinner tonight my sugars shot up to 8.8 and i'm feeling yukk and shaky, breathlessness where i need my inhaler and have drank a litre of water to make me feel somewhat normal whatever that is again and my ketones are 1.3 which seems high because i have no idea what has taken them up like this, i think it is high anyhow.

I really do not wish to go into hospital right now, actually, if the truth be known that i'm terrified of hospitals even though i had been to a clininc some 4 weeks ago. if i have anything like DKA then is there anyway i can lower it without taking insulin? i am on jardiance, i'm wondering if i can hang on over the weekend and speak to the doctor just to give me something which may help, but what for goodness sakes. I had insulin for a year and it didn't really do much, only these meds managed to get my sugars down to some acceptable level. Just to say for that year i was usually between 10.5 and 19m... yes, whilst on insulin pen.

I have acid - reflux, and am staying on one piece by sheer willpower else i shall just crash and sleep for the night and maybe more.

I hope someone comes along that can help you better. DKA in type 2's is rare but can happen and I believe is more likely to occur when on certain medications. The only solve I know is lots of water and insulin and if it reaches any risky levels the hospital. It can be very dangerous so you have to be careful.

There is also this that type 2's can get (rare still) and actually more dangerous so be very careful.

Since you don't feel good and you have higher ketones, I'm thinking you need to seek medical help before something happens. At least call for advice.
