I can. But some people cant. They rely 100% to the gadget. That is dangerous i think, because the tools sometimes makes mistakes. i have an experience when my blood sugar is high, but the blood test show low blood sugar.

High blood sugar symptom = feel like running, jumping, cannot sleep, cannot rest, feel like some power goes up to your brain.

low blood sugar = tired. begin to pass out.

The best way is eat moderately. do no overeat. you can eat anything in moderation.

If I am high I get cramps in the back of my legs and get very thirsty
I have no hypo awareness and rely on my Libre/Miaomiao combination to alarm me when I am low

I would be in a lot of trouble if I didn't have "the gadget" and I'd not have any control of glucose levels, which I think would be dangerous. I do get a warming sensation when glucose rises into the 8's.I can get pounding heart when it rises too quick and also when it drops too quick or gets low. So the use of a meter to measure is for me vital.

I strongly disagree with the idea you can eat anything in moderation.

I get dry mouth when I run high or low, but I do have hypo awareness. Weird stuff I guess.

Would that not depend on type of diabetes?? I can and do eat whatever I want, as long as I count the carbs correctly and take the correct amount of insulin at the correct then my BGs will stay in target and will have a pretty steady line

Yes. agreed and then there are those cannot do that. T2's on diet alone, no meds. It's an individual thing, which is why I disagreed with the OP's idea that seems to be a blanket statement.

I usually swap my carb for the sweets i take. for example.

i take half of my bowl of rice if im gonna eat a slice of chocolate cake.

The joys of putting all the types under one name! Diabetic

But there are carbs in sweets.
Can you give us a bit more info on they type of diabetes you have and what medication you use to treat it

Mine never really goes high or low, so no. But I can feel increased circulating insulin in my feet. This is a skill developed through tireless experimentation and experience gained from when I had really bad neuropathy. My plates are now fixed but I can still sense when insulin is going up in response to a large protein load several hours prior. Crazy but true.

My T2 highs and lows pretty much feel the same, but because I have a ketogenic diet I'll know which is which: usually happens when we've eaten out and there was something like honey "hidden" in a meal. Heart going nuts, hair standing on end, skin tingling, knees wobbly, confusion and I become quite orinary.

And no, I can't "eat anything in moderation". A carb is a carb, and they mess me up something awful, even after a few years of low carbing. The numbers look good, but I feel horrid when I hit so much as a seven. Alas. But hey, this is keto thing is working fine for me, so hurrah for solutions eh.

i have a type 2, but im skinny. so probably type 1.5...i dont take meds, im on diet alone
10% of T2's were never obese to begin with. Have you had tests (C-peptide and GAD) to check your insulin levels and antibodies? A T1.5 needs a different treatment than a T2. And the condition seems to progress different from T1. So... You really do need to know your type.

After going very low carb for sometime I got my HBa1c down to 31, but discovered that I wasn't starting to feel hypo until I was around 2.4, which was a bit scary - my diabetic consultant told me that was too low, and to get it up again. I now am at 40, which will probably go down a bit, as I'm managing to lose weight, but now start to feel hypo around 3.4 which is about right for me now.

Simple answer to both questions for me is yes and yes ,just depends on what I class as low and high , feeling low for me is about 3 and high about 10 but I can tell , low equals massive hunger and shakes , high means a general felling of lethargy and a slight short tempered ness , like I say these figures are for me and depending on what my control is like these can change , the ever evolving life as a diabetic lol keeps us on our toes eh ...lol

I can feel myself going low more than I can going high. When I get low I break out in a sweat (no matter where I am or what I'm doing) and feel shaky and hungry.

Hi. We all react differently. When I'm high in the 20s I have no symptoms. When I was in the 30s I got angry easily and peeing constantly. When I'm hypo I usually feel spaced-out and hot and sweaty. Some people are hypo unaware which is dangerous if driving.

Well didn't take the OP long to get himself banned. Don't know if that was a record or what.
You must've forgotten about those Asian spammers a couple of years ago. I wasn't a mod back then but the mods at that time must have had a very hard job keeping up with banning them as soon as they appeared!
