Well what do we do now, latest research says that people who eat processed and red meats are more likely to develop bowel and blood cancers while vegetarians are less likely

Hi Chris.

Do you have a link to that one please. Anything recent is of interest to me.

Here is a link to an report about the subject from 2007

Wasn't that long ago that they told us if we ate too many eggs we'd be having a heart attack. Also they are still touting the plenty of complex carbohydrate rubbish for diabetics. Our planet is so polluted just breathing the bloomin air will give us cancer, so as far as I'm concerned I will continue to eat red meat in moderation and enjoy it!

Me too caitycakes.

Nothing like a nice well hung, 21 day Steak, Sirloin, Rump or Fillet. That and a glass or two of Red Wine. I shan't give them up. :D

Most of these reports add a caveat at the end that nothing is actually proven, but as you say, eat in moderation. I can live with that. Life is for enjoyment.

Ken.

So Chris. I need that link ?

Thanks phoenix, can always rely on you. :D

I like the conclusions:
The incidence of some cancers may be lower in fish eaters and vegetarians than in meat eaters.

Seems like the media are quick to hype it up and add their own take of other unproven research.

Ah well. Just when you thought it was all clear, seems it isn't again.

Agreed - see Tom Lehrer.

What they don't add is that the people who eat more red meat probably also eat a lot of carbohydrates..........
