Carnivore Corner

Morning. Reporting in on Animal August. Doing well here. 2kg and 1.5cm off my waist so far, so making a dent in the weight that had crept back on. Aside from gargantuan sirloins, how are you going @bulkbiker ?

Hi
Still bubbling under 200 pounds but no great losses so far.. enjoying the cleaner eating and OMAD though..
198.2 this morning.. aiming for 180...

Haha! Had forgotten all about Animal Aug.

It is now... um... 3 weeks? A month? since I dropped the 70% choc squares, and the coffee substitute, and went 100% Carni (except for seasonings and a few spices).

Interestingly, my joint pain is reduced by a huge amount. Now, I am only getting twinges in one knee on our horribly steep home stairs. Very curious that such a tiny adjustment to diet has resulted in such an improvement in my quality of life.

Did a big shop yesterday, and the fridge is groaning with meaty pork ribs, lamb rump steaks (they were half price), homemade burgers, salmon steaks and cheese. :D

My intake of cream has dropped sharply, without the coffee substitute, which I have replaced with bone broth, which I find equally enjoyable.

I find it rather depressing that it looks like I will be stuck in this way of eating for ever.
But that feeling is balanced by the massive relief of having trouble free guts, and joints which are blissfully pain free.
The social side of things is definitely the most troublesome aspect.
I have no problem whatsoever with sorting my own food out at home, and eating what works for my body.
But if all I can eat is plain grilled meat in restaurants, then the explanations tip over into tiresome, and the usual meat portions of steak are not big enough for a meal if that is all you can eat. Other people get to fill up on veg, starches and dessert if they want (yup, even low carbers ;) ).

Well now @Jim Lahey has turned into a raw-meat eating, tanned, fit, Adonis-type (I paraphrase his words) he’ll be too busy fighting people off with a stick to reply to the Forum.

What's happened to @Jim Lahey? Has the raw liver proved fatal?

Hi. Pretty much 100% carnivore now. Raw or cooked, whatever takes my fancy or is sensible at the time. Still absolutely flatline glucose 24/7. Still breathing. Still passing beautiful polished stools three times a week or less and getting through virtually no toilet tissue :nurse:

Vegetables are dead to me. Totally pointless

A momentous moment for you. Reaching such a significant goal. Well done indeed. I'm currently updating my 'we kicked diabetes butt' doc. You have done that too! And helped so many others to do the same along the way, myself included. Thanks again.

I'm now 100% carnivore (with dairy) and will probably remain this way besides the odd exception once in a while in a homemade chilli or similar. Zero cellulose, zero plant lectins.

Feel like a superhero.
