I believe I have caused myself to have a hypo at 2.7 by injecting too much insulin and not eating enough!

Please treat that hypo! It happens to us all sometimes (well, me at least). The important thing is to treat the hypo, then you can worry about how/why it happened.

At 2.7 you may be feeling confused so please take some glucose, sugar, fruit juice, any fast acting carbs....

It’s scary **** having hypos! I only have myself to blame for this one! Goodnight all!
I regard it as a learning experience when I have a bad hypo and I know why. Really glad that you managed to treat it OK. I suspect you may find that your blood sugar goes through the roof now (it's all too easy to overtreat a hypo when your hypo symptoms are telling you to "eat the fridge"). But I much prefer to go a bit high and not become unconscious through low blood sugar than to undertreat and spend the night scoffing more glucose through repeated lows.

Hopefully you got some good hypo symptoms so you know what it feels like now.

Lots of virtual hugs and I hope you feel better soon. (Sometimes I have a bit of a "hypo hangover" the day after a really bad hypo.)

Sleep well.

@Neckarski_94 , don’t kick yourself.

It happens to even the most seasoned T1s.
As I once told my mum.. “sheds happen.” Funny how you never see anyone building one. (Apart from the “one” I once erected.)
And as I also moving on, tell my wife if she cooks. “It’s not you, my misjudgment on this one..”

It can happen because of a multitude of things. Miscalulation, type of food not complimenting the insulin profile, dodgy basal profile. Or not quite getting insulin carb ratio at a certain time of day beeng off…?

Yep too much insulin and not eating enough will definitely do it ! The main and the most important thing is you,re ok on a positive note it’s a great learning experience and probably one you won’t repeat in a hurry. I’m not sure if you are using a libre system or something similar , but low glucose alarms a really good from preventing you getting too low .i can say you are not alone in your misadventure I imagine for one reason or another many of us on this forum have done the same

I consider all my hypos are caused by too much insulin. But I don't beat myself up about it or blame myself. Doing the full time job of a major organ is tough while continuing to live a full life. And when there are so many things that affects our BG beyond what we eat, it makes it even harder.
I second using the alarm on your CGM (i think you have Dexcom one) to alert you to treat before going below 4 mmol/L.

Yes i am using the Dexcom ONE. This particular time it wasn’t ACTIVATED (only put a new sensor on last night) so wasn’t able to alert me when I was going low. Thank God I did a finger prick when I did!!

Are you getting hypo symptoms at all?
Did you double check the finger prick test?

I felt a bit weak. Then again I constantly feel weak and tired at the moment. When I get that low I then start panicking! I only did the one finger prick and treated IMMEDIATELY!!!

It really could be a good thing to have a hypo, and hopefully, be able to recognise what is happening and then treat accordingly. And it sounds like you did, so well done.
Funny old condition, isn't it?
I experienced one of your earlier posts this morning - same insulin, same breakfast as yesterday but today BG fell whereas it was the usual steady BG yesterday.

Had another hypo!! Did a fingerprick it was 3.9! CGM was saying 5.5/5.4. Calibrated CGM with BG meter. CGM dropped to 4.0!! Took some glucose tabs and now it’s back in range! IMG_3146.png
